5.5 Salinity 
Also salinity (raw) data from the MARNET stations are used on a regular basis to validate 
the circulation model. However, the availability of the salinity data is not as good as that 
of the water temperatures. Because of gaps and errors in the measured data, no 
statistical validation of model data for longer periods had been possible.
