Der Auftrag zum Bau eines neuen Mehr 
zweckschiffes als Ersatz für die im Ostseeraum 
eingesetzten CARL FR. GAUSS und DENEB 
wurde an die Peene-Werft in Wolgast vergeben. 
Das BSH beteiligte sich erneut an verschie 
denen maritimen Ausstellungen, auch anläßlich 
des Deutschen Geodätentages in Hamburg. Es 
war erstmals auf der Hamburger Ausstellung 
„Schiff, Maschine, Meerestechnik“ vertreten. 
Die organisatorische und personelle Inte 
gration der Außenstelle Rostock konnte erfolg 
reich abgeschlossen werden. 
Zum Jahresbeginn übernahm das BSH die 
Personalverwaltung der in Hamburg ansässigen 
Betriebskrankenkasse des Bundesverkehrsmini- 
steriums. 
Ende 1992 waren beim BSH über 1000 Mit 
arbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter beschäftigt. Der 
Gesamthaushalt belief sich auf mehr als 110 Mio 
DM.

Representatives of the BSH again attended 
various fairs and conferences, e.g. the meeting 
of German Geodesists in Hamburg, and for the 
first time had a stand at the International Shipping 
and Marine Technology Market, also In Hamburg. 
The integration of the new Rostock office 
and its staff into the organizational structure of 
the BSH was successfully completed. 
At the beginning of 1992, the BSH assumed 
responsibility for the administration of the Federal 
Ministry of Transport’s Hamburg-based health in 
surance fund. 
At the end of 1992, the BSH had a staff of 
over 1,000 and a budget exceeding DM 110 mil 
lion.
