The regulations concerning position lanterns with appertaining conditions
for admittance as wall as the standard-draft for ship's position lanterns
for sea-going and inland ships are completed..
The public service of the B.H.I» such as the Bavigational Warning.
Service, the Stormflood Warning Service as well as the Ice Service were
continued in the usual way. International relations of the Institute could
further be deepened by sending some of its members to the Seventh Conference
of the International Hydrographic Bureau to Monaco., to the Eleventh General
Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics held in
Toronto, to the Conference-on Long Waves and Storm Surges in Wormley/England,
and to the Annual Meeting of the International Council for the Exploration of
the Sea held in Bergen/Iforway as well as to the Three-Eation Meeting in London
The exchange of nautical and scientific publications at home and abroad has
increased, too.
