The Deutsches Hydrographisches Institut (PHI) in 1984
117
the NOAMP work was continued.
The Research Vessel "Gaufi" - during 17 voyages - monitored, as routine,
the seawater for injurious impurities, and carried out oceanographic,
geological, and geophysical investigations in the North Sea and the
Baltic Sea as well as type-testing.
The Survey and Research Ship "Komet" and the Survey Ship "Siideroog" ran
15,105 nautical miles of soundings in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea
for the hydrographic survey.
For wreck search and control, the Survey and Wreck Search Ships "Atair"
and "Wega" have checked 142 already known wrecks and positions at which
submarine hindrances were suspected, and thereby found 54 new wrecks.
