Cruise Report, RV ATAIR, Cruise 067I033-1, Bremerhaven – Thybor?n – Aberdeen, 23 Jul – 15 Aug 2024 25 5.8 Water Sampling with respect to Dissolved Inorganic Carbon & Alkalinity Samples for total alkalinity (AT) and total inorganic carbon (CT) were taken at 2 to 8 depth levels per profile. The samples were collected from the Niskin bottles using silicone tubing. For AT and CT, unfiltered water samples were collected in 300 mL BOD bottles (avoiding gas ex- change), stabilized with 300 ?L of saturated mercury chloride solution (HgCl2), and stored un- der dark conditions until further analysis in the home laboratory (Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon) located in Geesthacht.
