5.4.2. Examples of RFI events in L5 band 
5.4.2.1. Strong RFI event on September 27 
On September 27 there were 51 RFI detections in L5, of which two were above the strong 
interference threshold, as it can be seen on Figure 5-16. This scenario of several weak detections is 
Juite common in L5 band as it is susceptible to interference coming from aeronautical 
radionavigation services (ARNS) as it was reviewed in subsection 3.4, the most common type of 
ARNS being the DME/TACAN systems. A better overview of ARNS that can interfere with the L5 
signals can be found on the appendices of [11].
