4. Demonstrator 2 
4.1. Hardware used 
Demonstrator 2 makes use of a 4-element antenna array with the arrangement of the antennas in 
a 2-by-2 grid as shown in Figure 4-1. Because the multi-antenna RF-front-end used by the 
demonstrator supports only the operation on a single frequency, an L1/E1 antenna array developed 
in past projects was chosen for the use with the demonstrator.

The frequency response of a single antenna element of the array is shown in Figure 4-2. The 
reception characteristics of the array elements have been measured in a free-space test range, the 
corresponding diagrams are shown in Figure 4-3.
