Full text: 56: Usability of gas chromatography techniques (GC-FID, GC-MS and GC-IRMS) for identification of maritime paraffin wax

This document describes the outcome of an initial intercalibration study investigating possibilities of environ 
mental forensic analysis for source identification of paraffin spills using and enhancing methods regularly 
applied in oil spill environmental forensics. This study was part of the R&D project “Untersuchung uber ver- 
olte Seevogel und Strandverolungen (Investigations concerning oiled birds and oil contamination on 
beaches)”, realised by Schleswig-Holstein’s Agency for Coastal Defense, National Park and Marine Conser 
vation (LKN.SH) (2013-2016 ) and financed by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH), Ham 
burg, Germany. It is a working document displaying the current state of discussion (January 2016).
