The data acquisition system on board CMS "Koln Atlantic" is a 
SEAS-II unit (Shipboard Environmental Data Acquisition 
System). It is a complete hardware/software system for semi 
automatic acquisition of ocean temperature and meteorological 
data, which consists of Sippican hand-held XBT launcher, 
Bathy Systems SA-810 controller, HP-85B desktop computer, 
Synergetics satellite transmitter, and 1/4 helix antenna 
(Figs. 3 and 7).
