INTRODUCTION 
This paper is to set out briefly what the Federal Republic of 
Germany might be able to contribute as a scientific input to the 
North Sea Task Force ( taking as an example the British contri 
bution NSC (TF) (88) 3). 
The list might possibly not be comprehensive due to incomplete 
or no information received from different institutions. 
It was not always clear under which subject heading to co 
ordinate the scientific projects, as some of the items span 
more than one subject heading or are subprojects within the frame 
work of an interdisciplinary project (see later on). 
Wherever possible any overlap is shown in the list or 
references are made. 
According to information received, some projects are quoted 
by their full title whereas others are only indicated by key 
words in a shortened form. 
Comments are only given according to information sent in by the 
institutions concerned.
