deutschen  Ostseeküste;
Projekt  des  Kuratoriums  für  Forschung ­
  im  Küsteningenieurwesen
zum  Aufbau  eines  integrierten
Höhenüberwachungssystems  in
Küstenregionen.

Humanities);

the  amount  of  €  1,4  million,  including ­
  €  611,770  in  third-party

The  BSH  is  a  non-university  partner ­
  in  the  new  climate  research
competence  centre  in  Hamburg,
which  was  established  in  2007
within  the  framework  of  the  excellence ­
  initiative  of  the  German
Research  Council;
Research  project  on  extreme  storm
surge  events  on  the  German  Baltic ­
  Sea  coast;
Project  of  KFKI  (German  Coastal  Engineering ­
  Research  Council)  on
the  development  of  an  integrated
geodetic  system  in  coastal  regions. ­


Sound  scientific  knowledge  and
continued  research  and  development
activities  are  the  basis  of  the  BSH’s
day-to-day  work.  Without  these
assets,  It  would  not  be  able  to  fulfill
Its  demanding  tasks  and  cope  with
changing  requirements,  often  resulting
from  International  conventions.
The  BSH  carries  out  a  wide  range  of
own  projects,  participates  In  thirdparty
  research  programmes,  and
maintains  a  dialogue  on  scientific
topics  with  research  Institutions  and
organisations.
