dann weiter südwärts entlang der Küste bis Norra 
Kvarken. Im Bereich Norströmsgrund — 
Falkensgrund treiben in der Rinne einige grobe 
Eisschollen. In der Skellefteäa Bucht und östlich von 
Bjuröklubb kommen Bereiche mit groben 
Eisschollen vor.

Norströmsgrund — Falkensgrund some heavy ice 
floes are drifting in the lead. In the Bight of 
Skellefteäa and east of Bjuröklubb there are some 
areas with heavy ice floes. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Die Witterung im nördlichen Ostseeraum wird in den 
nächsten zwei Tagen durch ein Hochdruckgebiet 
über Nordrussland bestimmt. Im nördlichen 
Bottnischen Meerbusen werden schwache Winde 
aus südlichen bis westlichen Richtungen 
vorherrschen. In Norra Kvarken und im Südteil der 
Bottenvik ist mit einem raschen Eisrückgang zu 
rechnen, das Eis im Nordteil der Bottenvik wird bei 
deutlich ansteigenden Tageslufttemperaturen 
zunehmend morsch. 
Expected Ice Development 
The weather in the northern region of the Baltic 
Sea will be set by a high pressure area over the 
1orthern Russia during the next two days. In the 
northern Gulf of Bothnia weak winds from southerly 
to westerly directions will dominate. In Norra 
Kvarken and in the southern part of the Bay of 
Bothnia rather rapid ice retreat is expected. Due to 
significant increase of the air temperatures during 
the daytime, the ice in the northern part of the Bay 
of Bothnia will become increasingly rotten.

Information of the Icebreaker Services 
Finland 
Vessels bound for ports with traffic restrictions in the Gulf of Bothnia shall report to ICE INFO on VHF Channel 
84 when passing the Svenska Björn lighthouse. 
Icebreaker: OTSO and SISU assist in the Bay of Bothnia. 
Sweden 
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental 
cebreaker assistance. 
Vessels bound for ports subject to traffic restrictions in Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn 
'59°33’N 20°01’E), report to ICEINFO on VHF channel 84. 
Arrival report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, when the ship is well moored, including ship’s
