Jber das Wochenende hat das Eis weiter abge- 
10mmen, die großräumigen Verteilung hat sich nicht 
wesentlich verändert. 
Overview 
Over the weekend the ice retreat had continued, 
without significant changes in the larger scale ice 
distribution. 
Saimaasee: S-lich von Joensuu tritt 5-15 cm dickes 
morsches Eis auf. 
Lake Saimaa: South of Joensuu 5-15 cm thick 
rotten ice occurs. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: Mostly open water, only north of 
Valassaaret very open rotten ice is drifting in 
places. - Swedish Coast: Mostly open water and 
very open ice. East of Holmöarna there is rotten, 
close ice, and numerous heavy floes are drifting 
south of Nordvalen. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern Bay of Bothnia 
there is 40-85 cm thick rottening fast ice in the 
archipelago. Farther out there is very close, heavily 
tidged 40-60 cm thick ice. There are many 
fractures in the ice field. A wide lead runs from 
Malören to Farstugrunden and farther southwards 
along the Swedish coast. In the central and 
southern part there is rotten fast ice in the 
archipelagos and farther off very close to close, 
rafted and ridged, rottening, 30-50 cm thick ice 
occurs. There are plenty of fractures in the ice field. 
Swedish Coast: In the northern archipelagos 
there is 20-70 cm thick, rottening fast ice. At sea 
there is very close, 30-60cm thick ice with heavy 
floes, ridges, and many cracks in the central and 
eastern part. A 5-25 nm wide lead stretches from 
Malören to Norströmsagrund and then farther 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Größtenteils offenes Wasser, nur 
\-lich von Valassaaret treibt auf See stellenweise 
sehr lockeres morsches Eis. - Schwedische Küste: 
Meist offenes Wasser und sehr lockeres Eis. E-lich 
von Holmöarna kommt dichtes, morsches Eis vor. 
Südlich von Nordvalen treiben viele grobe Schollen. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: Die Schären sind im Norden mit 
40-85 cm dickem, morsch werdenden Festeis be- 
deckt. Weiter außerhalb befindet sich sehr dichtes, 
stark aufgepresstes, 40-60 cm dickes Eis mit vielen 
Brüchen. Eine breite Rinne verläuft von Malören 
über Farstugrunden und dann entlang der schwe- 
dischen Küste nach Süden. Im mittleren und S- 
ichen Teil liegt in den Schären morsches Festeis, 
außerhalb davon sehr dichtes bis dichtes, über- 
einandergeschobenes und aufgepresstes, morsch 
werdendes, 30-50 cm dickes Treibeis. Im Eisfeld 
<ommen zahlreiche Brüche vor. - Schwedische 
Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 20-70 cm dickes, 
norsch werdendes Festeis. Auf See liegt im 
zentralen und im östlichen Bereich sehr dichtes, 30- 
60 cm dickes Eis mit groben Schollen, Presseis- 
rücken und zahlreichen Brüchen. Eine 5-25 sm
