Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Das Wetter im N-lichen Ostseeraum wird heute 
durch ein Zwischenhoch, danach durch ein von 
West nach Ost über Südskandinavien ziehendes 
Tiefdruckgebiet bestimmt. An den Küsten der 
3Zottenvik wird in den nächsten zwei bis drei Tagen 
eichter bis mäßiger Nachtfrost vorherrschen, in den 
offenen Bereichen kann sich etwas Neueis bilden. 
Windbedingte Änderungen der Eislage sind vorerst 
nicht zu erwarten. Im Finnischen und Rigaischen 
Meerbusen sowie in der Bottensee wird sich der 
jahreszeitliche Eisrückgang relativ schnell 
fortsetzen.

Expected Ice Development 
The weather in the northern region of the Baltic 
Sea will be set by a ridge of high today, thereafter 
by a low moving from the west over the southern 
Scandinavia eastwards. At the coasts of the Bay of 
Bothnia, light to moderate night frost will occur 
within the next two to three days, some new ice 
may form in the open areas. Wind-induced 
changes of the ice situation will not be expected for 
the present. The seasonal ice retreat in the Gulfs of 
Finland and Riga as well as in the Sea of Bothnia 
will continue rather rapidly.

Information of the Icebreaker Services 
Estonia 
icebreaker: EVA-316 is assisting to Pärnu Bay and in the Gulf of Riga, no service for tugs and barges. 
Finland 
From 1° of March only vessels in ice class IA and more than 4000 tons in deadweight, which have per port (for 
Ihe ports Tornio, Kemi, Oulu, Raahe) at least 2000 tons to load or unload or both together. 
Vessels bound for ports in the Gulf of Bothnia shall report to ICE INFO on VHF Channel 84 when passing the 
Svenska Björn lighthouse. 
Icebreaker: KONTIO, URHO and OTSO assist in the northern Bay of Bothnia, SISU works in the southern 
3ay of Bothnia. VOIMA assists in the eastern Gulf of Finland. PROTECTOR and LETTO assist in Lake 
Saimaa. 
Russia 
Icebreaker: Icebreakers KAPITAN ZARUBIN, IVAN KRUZENSTERN and SEMYAN DEZNEYV assist vessels in 
the port of St. Petersburg. In the ports Vyborg and Vysotsk vessels are assisted by icebreakers TOR and 
KAPITAN IZMAILOW. ERMAK and MOSKYVA are working in the port of Primorsk. KARU is assisting in the port
