Schärenmeer 
In den inneren Schären liegt 30-50 cm dickes Fest- 
eis, in den äußeren Schären 15-35 cm dickes 
ebenes Eis und zusammenhängendes Treibeis bis 
Jtö. 
Älandsee 
Meist lockeres 5-20 cm dickes Treibeis mit einigen 
groben Eisschollen im N-Teil; Schifffahrt durch 
Oregrundsgrepen ist nicht empfehlenswert. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt 25-60 cm 
dickes Festeis. Außerhalb der Festeiskante kommt 
auf 25-75 sm zusammengeschobenes, aufge- 
presstes 10-40 cm dickes Eis vor. Weiter außerhalb 
kommt im Norden dünnes ebenes Eis vor, im Süden 
treibt 5-35 cm dickes Eis unterschiedlicher 
Konzentration. - Schwedische Küste: Von Norra 
«varken bis Hudiksvall verläuft entlang der Küste 
eine 5-15 sm breite Rinne, die mit Neueis bedeckt 
st. Im N-Teil liegt 5-15 cm dickes ebenes Eis. S-lich 
der Breite 61%45'N kommt ein breites Gebiet mit 
‘ockerem Eis oder Neueis und einzelnen groben 
Eisschollen, die sich etwa 8-10 sm NE- und SE-lich 
von Västra Banken sowie im Bereich um 
Grundkallen befinden, vor. E-lich von 19E kommt 
sehr dichtes 10-30cm dickes Eis vor. Der 
Angermanälven ist mit bis zu 50 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. 
Archipelago Sea 
There is 30-50 cm thick fast ice in the inner 
archipelago. In the outer skerries, 15-35 cm thick 
level ice and consolidated drift ice to Utö. 
Sea of Äland 
Mostly open 5-20 cm thick ice with some heavy ice 
foes in the northern part; Transit traffic through 
Oregrundsgrepen is not advisable. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the archipelago 25-60 cm thick 
fast ice occurs. Off the fast ice edge there is for 25- 
75 nm compact, ridged 10-40 cm thick ice. Farther 
aut there is thin level ice in the north and 5-35 cm 
lhick drift ice of different concentration in the south. 
Swedish Coast: From MNorra Kvarken to 
Hudiksvall, a 5-15 nm wide lead, covered with new 
ice, runs along the coast. In the northern part there 
is 5-15 cm thick level ice. South of the latitude 
61%45’N there is a wide area with open ice or new 
ice and single heavy ice floes, which are located 
approximately 8-10 nm northeast and southeast of 
Västra Banken as well as in the area around 
Grundkallen. East of 19% there is very close 10-30 
cm thick ice. The Angermanälven is covered with 
up to 50 cm thick fast ice. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Von Vaasa bis Norra Gloppsten 
iegt 40-60 cm dickes Festeis, weiter bis Norrskär 
iegt sehr dichtes und übereinandergeschobenes 15- 
40 cm dickes Eis. Weiter außerhalb kommt im 
Norden sehr dichtes 20-45 cm dickes Eis und im 
Süden sehr dichtes 5-15 cm dickes Eis vor. - 
Schwedische Küste: Auf See liegt sehr dichtes bis 
zu 30 cm dickes Treibeis, in dem E- und S-lich von 
Nordvalen einige Presseisrücken vorkommen. E-lich 
von Holmöarna und im Bereich Nordvalen — 
Gunvorsgrund — Väktaren tritt meist Neueis auf. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: Between Vaasa and Norra 
Gloppsten there is 40-60 cm thick fast ice, then 
there is very close and rafted 15-40 cm thick ice to 
Norrskär. Farther out there is very close 20-45 cm 
‘hick ice in the north and very close 5-15 cm thick 
ice in the south. - Swedish Coast: At sea there is 
mostly very close, up to 30 cm thick ice. In the ice 
there are some ridges, specially in the region east 
and south of Nordvalen. East of Holmöarna and in 
ıhe area Nordvalen — Gunvorsgrund — Väktaren 
there is mostly new ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern Bay of Bothnia 
‘here is 40-85 cm, in the central and southern part 
35-60 cm thick fast ice in the archipelago. Farther 
aut there is consolidated, heavily ridged 30-60 cm 
'hick ice in the north. In the central and southern 
part there is very close, rafted and ridged 20-50 
zm thick ice. - Swedish Coast: In the northern part 
‘here is very close 30-60 cm thick ice with some 
neavily floes and ridges. A narrow leads runs south 
of Malören and from Bjuröklubb southwards along 
‘he coast. In the area around Farstugrunden and in 
:he Bight of Skellefteä there is level ice. South of 
6440'N there is mainly 25-50 cm level ice with 
some cracks. In the ice field ridges occur, specially 
in the area between Biuröklubb and Blackkallen. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: Die Schären sind im Norden mit 
40-85 cm, im mittleren und S-lichen Teil mit 35-60 
cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb davon 
kommt im Norden zusammenhängendes, stark auf- 
gepresstes 30-60 cm dickes Eis vor. Im mittleren 
And S-lichen Teil liegt sehr dichtes, übereinanderge- 
schobenes und aufgepresstes 20-50 cm dickes 
Treibeis. - Schwedische Küste: Im Norden liegt 
sehr dichtes 30-60 cm dickes Eis mit einigen 
gröberen Schollen und Presseisrücken. S-lich von 
Malören und von Bjuröklubb S-wärts entlang der 
Küste verlaufen schmale Rinnen. Im Bereich um 
Farstugrunden und in der Skelleftea Bucht liegt 
ebenes Eis. S-lich von 6440'N tritt überwiegend 25 - 
50cm dickes ebenes Eis mit einigen Rissen. Im
