Schärenmeer 
In den inneren Schären liegt 30-50 cm dickes Fest- 
eis, in den äußeren Schären 15-35 cm dickes 
ebenes Eis und zusammenhängendes Treibeis bis 
Utö. 
Älandsee 
Meist dichtes bis sehr dichtes, 5-20cm dickes 
Treibeis. Eine Rinne verläuft von der Bottensee über 
Garundkallen bis zur nördlichen Ostsee, in der aber 
;ockeres Eis oder Steifen mit Eisbrei treiben. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt 25-60 cm 
dickes Festeis. Außerhalb der Festeiskante kommt 
auf 25-70 sm zusammengeschobenes, stark aufge- 
presstes 10-40 cm dickes Eis vor. Weiter außerhalb 
<ommt im Norden dünnes ebenes Eis vor und im 
Süden driftet 5-35cm dickes Eis. - Schwedische 
Küste: Im N-Teil liegt 5-15 cm dickes ebenes Eis. 
Im Süden erstreckt sich von Ago nach Süden hin 
eine 5-15sm breite Rinne, es kommen auch kleinere 
Gebiet mit lockeren Eis vor. Eine Gegend offenen 
Wassers, in dem einige gröbere Schollen vor- 
xommen, erstreckt sich von Finngrundet bis etwa 
zur Breite von Hudiksvall. Östlich von 19°E kommt 
10-30 cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis vor. Der 
Ängermanälven ist mit bis zu 50 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. 
Archipelago Sea 
There is 30-50 cm thick fast ice in the inner 
archipelago. In the outer skerries, 15-35 cm thick 
level ice and consolidated drift ice to Utö. 
Sea of Äland 
Mostly close to very close, 5-20cm thick ice. A lead 
runs all the way from the Sea of Bothnia over 
Grundkallen to the northern Baltic, but in the lead 
open ice and belts of shuga do occur. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the archipelago 25-60 cm thick 
fast ice occurs. Off the fast ice edge there is for 25- 
70 nm compact, heavily ridged 10-40 cm thick ice. 
Farther out there is thin level ice in the north and 5- 
35cm thick drift ice in the south. - Swedish Coast: 
in the northern part there is 5-15 cm thick level ice, 
A 5-15nm wide lead stretches from Ago 
southwards, some smaller areas with open ice do 
occur. A region of open water, in which some heavy 
floes are present, is located from Finngrundet until 
approximately the latitude of Hudiksvall. East of 
19°E there is 10-30cm thick, very close ice. The 
Ängermanälven is covered with up to 50 cm thick 
fast ice. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Von Vaasa bis Norra Gloppsten 
jegt 40-60 cm dickes Festeis, weiter bis Norrskär 
jegt sehr dichtes und übereinandergeschobenes 15- 
40 cm dickes Eis. Weiter außerhalb im Norden sehr 
ockeres 5-15cm dickes Eis und im Süden sehr 
dichtes Eis. - Schwedische Küste: Aus See liegt 
neist bis zu 30cm dickes, sehr dichtes Treibeis vor, 
‘mn dem einige Presseisrücken, besonders nord- 
östlich von Nordvalen, sowie Risse und kleiner 
Spalten vorkommen. Von Holmsund nach Osten 
<ommt bis Nordvalen offenes Wasser oder dünnes 
Neueis vor. E-lich von Holmöarna liegt ein schmales 
Gebiet mit ebenem Eis. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: Die Schären sind im Norden mit 
40-85 cm, im mittleren und S-lichen Teil mit 35-60 
cm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb davon 
<ommt im Norden zusammenhängendes, stark auf- 
gepresstes 30-60 cm dickes Eis vor. Eine Rinne 
verläuft von Farstugrunden über Malören nach 
Artunmatala und eine weitere von Merikallat nach 
Nahkiainen. Im mittleren und S-lichen Teil liegt sehr 
dichtes, übereinandergeschobenes und teilweise 
aufgepresstes 20-50 cm dickes Treibeis, aber 
Norra Kvarken

Galoppsten there is 40-60 cm thick fast ice, then 
there is very close and rafted 15-40 cm thick ice to 
Norrskär. Farther out there is very open, 5-15cm 
thick ice in the north and very close ice in the 
south. - Swedish Coast: At sea there is mostly up 
to 30cm thick, very close ice. In the ice there are 
some ridges, specially in the region north-east of 
Nordvalen, as well as cracks and minor leads. 
From Holmsund eastwards to Nordvalen there is 
open water or thin new ice. East of Holmöarna 
there Is a narrow area with level ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern Bay of Bothnia 
there is 40-85 cm, in the central and southern part 
35-60 cm thick fast ice in the archipelago. Farther 
out there is consolidated, heavily ridged 30-60 cm 
thick ice in the north. A lead runs from 
Farstugrunden over Malören to Artunmatala and 
another from Merikallat to Nahkiainen. In the 
central and southern part there is very close, rafted 
and in places ridged 20-50 cm thick ice, but from 
Kokkola lighthouse to Ulkokalla there is an about
