Bottensee 
Vollständig eisbedeckt. 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt 25-45 cm 
dickes Festeis, außerhalb davon kommt auf etwa 5- 
10 sm dünnes ebenes Eis, dann dichtes 5-20 cm 
dickes Eis vor. - Schwedische Küste: In den 
Schären liegt 20-40 cm dickes Festeis. Auf See sehr 
dichtes 10-30 cm dickes Eis mit Presseisrücken. 
Von der Gävlebucht bis zur Älandsee liegt ein 
Gebiet mit sehr dichtem 15-35 cm dicken Eis, sonst 
kommt im Süden meist zusammenhängendes, 
teilweise üÜübereinandergeschobenes 10-20 cm 
dickes Treibeis mit einigen Presseisrücken vor. Der 
Angermanälv ist mit bis zu 50 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. 
Norra Kvarken 
Auf See meist sehr dichtes und übereinander- 
geschobenes 15-40 cm dickes Eis und dünnes 
abenes Eis. 
Finnische Küste: Von Vaasa bis Norra Gloppsten 
30-55 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon liegt im 
Süden sehr dichtes 10-30 cm dickes Eis und 
Neueis. - Schwedische Küste: W-lich von 
dolmöarna 30-60 cm dickes Festeis. Bei Nordvalen 
‚legt sehr dichtes 20-40 cm dickes Eis mit einigen 
Presseisrücken. E-lich von Holmöarna kommt ein 
schmales Gebiet mit 10-20 cm dickem ebenen Eis. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Totally ice covered. 
Finnish Coast: In the archipelagos there is 25-45 
cm thick fast ice, farther out an approximately 5-10 
ım wide region of thin level ice, then close 5-20 cm 
'hick ice. - Swedish Coast: In the archipelagos 
‘here is 20-40 cm thick fast ice. At sea there is very 
close 10-30 cm thick ice with ridges. There is very 
close 15-35 cm thick ice between the Bight of 
Gävle and the Sea of Äland, else in the southern 
part consolidated, partly rafted 10-20 cm thick drift 
ice with some ridges occurs. The Ängermanälv is 
covered with up to 50 cm thick fast ice. 
Norra Kvarken 
At sea mostly very close and rafted 15-40 cm thick 
ice and thin level ice. 
Finnish Coast: From Vaasa to Norra Gloppsten

south there is very close 10-30 cm thick ice and 
new ice. - Swedish Coast: West of Holmöarna 30- 
60 cm thick fast ice. In the Nordvalen region there

East of Holmöarna there is a narrow area with 10- 
20 cm thick level ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
covered with 40-65 cm, the southern archipelagos 
with 35-55 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice there is 
consolidated, heavily ridged 30-50 cm thick ice 
1orth of the line Raahe — Nygrän. Else, very close, 
rafted and partly ridged 20-40 cm thick ice occurs. - 
Swedish Coast: In the northern inner archipelagos 
'here is 40-70 cm thick fast ice. At sea in the north 
there is very close and consolidated 25-50 cm thick 
‘ce. In the region north of the latitude 65 N heavy 
tdges occur. A 1-5 nm wide area, covered by thin 
ice with some thicker floes, runs from the Bight of 
Skelleftea southwards to Holmöarna. Otherwise, 
very close, partly rafted 15-40 cm thick ice with 
some cracks in-between occurs. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: Die N-lichen Schären sind mit 40- 
65 cm, die S-lichen Schären mit 35-55 cm dickem 
Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb des Festeises liegt im 
Norden bis zu der Linie Raahe — Nygrän zusammen- 
nängendes, stark aufgepresstes 30-50 cm dickes 
Eis. Sonst kommt sehr dichtes, übereinanderge- 
schobenes und teilweise aufgepresstes 20-40 cm 
dickes Eis vor. - Schwedische Küste: In den N- 
lichen inneren Schären 40-70 cm dickes Festeis. Auf 
See liegt im Norden zusammenhängendes 25-50 cm 
dickes Eis. N-lich der Breite 65 N kommen 
schwierige Presseisrücken vor. Ein 1-5 sm breites 
Gebiet, bedeckt mit dünnem Eis und einigen 
dickeren Schollen, verläuft von der Skellefteäa Bucht 
S-wärts bis Holmöarna. Sonst kommt sehr dichtes, 
zum Teil übereinandergeschobenes 15-40 cm 
dickes Treibeis mit einigen Rissen dazwischen vor. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Ein Tief über der nördlichen Ostsee zieht NE-wärts 
und bestimmt in den nächsten zwei Tagen die 
Witterung im Ostseeraum. Im N-lichen Ostseeraum 
wird das Eis bei strengem bis sehr strengem Frost 
weiter zunehmen. Im S-lichen Ostseeraum werden 
sich die Eisverhältnisse vorerst nicht wesentlich 
verändern, an der Nordseeküste setzt sich der 
Eisrückgang fort. 
Expected Ice Development 
The weather in the region of the Baltic Sea will be 
set by a low over northern Baltic moving 
northeastwards within the next two days. At strong 
to very strong frost ice will further increase in the 
northern region of the Baltic Sea. Ice conditions in 
the southern region of the Baltic Sea will not 
change very much first, at the North Sea coast ice 
retreat will continue.
