Germany
The northern approach to Stralsund, the southern Peenestrom and Kleines Haff are closed for navigation. Only
daytime navigation is allowed to Stralsund.
Icebreaker: ARKONA is assisting in the approach to Stralsund, Landtief and in the Greifswalder Bodden.
GÖRMITZ assists in the northern Peenestrom, southern Greifswalder Bodden and Osttief, RANZOW is
assisting in the Strelasund and in the Greifswalder Bodden. FAIRPLAY V assists in Wismar harbour. In the
port of Hamburg the ice is being broken and ships are assisted if necessary.
Latvia
Call on VHF channel 16 or 13 for icebreaker VARMA, or mobile phone +37129341982 or +37129272477.
Icebreaker: VARMA assists in the Gulf of Riga and in Irben Strait, no servive for tugs and barges.
Norway
Ice Class IC is recommended for navigation in the Norwegian waters (fairways).
Navigation in Vesterelva is temporarily closed. In the area of Drammensfjorden, Torgersoygapet, in the area of
Tonsberg harbour, Gronholmsgapet and Stangholmgapet navigation is possible with icebreaker assistance.
In the inner harbour of Sandefjorden contact Sandefjord Harbour for ice breaking, +4791327783. Navigation in
_angärdsund is temporarily closed.
Russia
The tow boat-barges are not assisted to St. Petersburg, Vyborg, Vysotsk and Ust-Luga.
Icebreaker: Icebreakers IVAN KRUZENSTERN, YURI LISYANSKI, MUDJUG and KAPITAN ZARUBIN assist
vessels in the port of St. Petersburg. In the ports Vyborg and Vysotsk vessels are assisted by icebreaker
XAPITAN IZMAILOW and SANKT PETERSBURG. KAPITAN SOROKIN and MOSKVA are working in the port
of Primorsk. TOR is assisting in the port Ust Luga.
On the fairway from the receiving buoy to the island Gogland vessels are assisted by icebreakers KARU and
TOR. The point of convoy formation is 59° 45’N 26° 16’E.
Sweden
Transit traffic through western part of the Quark is prohibited.
Transit traffic through Öregrundsgrepen and Kalmarsund is not advisable.
Traffic for low power vessels from Strömstad to Bergkvara is not advisable.
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental
cebreaker assistance.
All ships entering harbours in the Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn (59° 33’N 20° 01’E),
contact ICEINFO on VHF channel 84.
Arrival report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, when the ship is well moored, including ship’s
ı1ame, ETD and next port of destination.
Jeparture report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, at least 6 hours before departure.
Icebreaker: YMER and BALDER VIKING assist in Bay of Bothnia. ATLE assists in the Quark. FREJ assists
n the northern Sea of Bothnia. TOR VIKING II assists in the southern Sea of Bothnia. ALE and DYNAN
assist in Lake Vänern and in Göta River. SCANDICA assist along the Swedish west and south coast.
