Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Estnische Küste: Vor der Küste von Saaremaa und 
Ziilumaa kommt 5-15cm dickes dichtes Eis vor. - 
Lettische Küste: In den Häfen von Ventspils und 
_iepaja liegt dichtes bis sehr dichtes 5-10 cm dickes 
Eis. In den Fahrwassern kommt offenes Wasser vor 
Schwedische Küste: In den Schären von Stock- 
10olm bis Karlskrona liegt 10-40 cm dickes Festeis 
Auf See E-lich von Svenska Högarna driftes dünnes 
Eis und Neueis. Im Kalmarsund sehr dichtes bis zu 
40 cm dickes Eis. Mälarsee: Mit bis zu 50 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt. Vänernsee: Im Värmlands- 
sjön liegt an der Küste von 30-50 cm dickes Festeis, 
außerhalb davon treibt dünnes Eis und Neueis. In 
Vänersborgsviken, Kinneviken und in den Schären 
von Lurö etwa 50 cm dickes Festeis oder ebenes 
Eis. Im Dalbosjön liegt im Süden zusammengescho- 
benes, teilweise aufgepresstes Eis, ansonsten 
kommt 10-25 cm dickes Eis vor. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Estonian Coast: Off the coast of Saaremaa and 
Hiiumaa open thin ice occurs. - Latvian Coast: In 
the ports of Ventspils and Liepaja there is close to 
very close 5-10 cm thick ice. On the fairways there 
is open water. - Swedish coast: In the archipelago 
from Stockholm to Karlskrona there is 10-40 cm 
thick fast ice, farther off there is thin level ice and 
new ice. At sea thin ice and new ice is drifting east 
of Svenska Högarna. In the Kalmar Strait there is 
very close, up to 40 cm thick ice. Lake Mälaren: 
Covered with up to 50 cm thick fast ice. Lake 
Vänern: In the Värmlandssjön at the coast there is 
30-50 cm thick fast ice, farther out thin drift ice and 
new ice occurs. In Vänersborgsviken, Kinneviken 
and in the archipelago of Lurö there is about 50 cm 
thick fast ice or level ice. In the Dalbosjön there is 
compact, partly ridged ice in the south, else 10-25 
cm thick ice occurs. 
Gulf of Riga 
Mostly covered with very close 15-30 cm thick ice. 
In the Irben Strait there is compact 20-40 cm thick 
ice in the north and very close 5-15 cm thick ice in 
the south. 
Estonian Coast: In Moonsund there is 20-40 cm 
thick fast ice, in the Pärnu Bay there is 45-50 cm 
thick fast ice up to the latitude of Kihnu. - Latvian 
Coast: In the port of Riga very open slush ice, 
farther out on the fairway there is close 15-30 cm 
thick ice to Mersrags and very close 5-15 cm thick 
ice to the Irben Strait. In the Irben Strait and near 
Kolka there is hummocking and new ice formation. 
Farther out on the fairway to Ventspils there is very 
open 5-10 cm thick drift ice. 
Gulf of Finland 
At sea there is very close ice in the north and the 
east, in the south thin level ice. 
Estonian Coast: In the Narva Bay there is near 
the coast a belt of fast ice, then close ice, 5-15cm 
thick. In the Kunda and Muuga bay there is 5-15cm 
thick very close ice. In the Tallinn Bay there is 5- 
15cm thick fast ice near the shore and farther out 
there is 3-7 cm thick close ice. - Finnish Coast: In 
the archipelagos there is 20-40 cm thick fast ice. 
Off the fast ice there 15-30cm thick very close 
ridged ice in the west and in the east there is 25- 
40cm thick very close and heavily ridged ice with 
some ares with new ice. - Russian Coast: In the 
harbours of St. Petersburg there is fast ice. Farther 
westwards on the fairway 40-55 cm thick fast ice 
occurs to Kotlin, followed by 20-35cm thick 
consolidated ice with some areas of thinner ice to 
Malyj. Farther out there is very close 15-30 cm thick 
ice. - The inner Vyborg Bay is covered with 30-45 cm 
thick fast ice, followed by 20-35cm thick consolidated 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Größtenteils mit sehr dichtem 15-30 cm dicken Eis 
bedeckt. In der Irbenstraße liegt kompaktes 20-40 
cm dickes Eis im Norden und sehr dichtes 5-15 cm 
dickes Eis im Süden. 
Estnische Küste: Der Moonsund ist mit 20-40 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt. In der Pärnubucht liegt bis 
zur Breite von Kihnu 45-50 cm dickes Festeis. - 
Lettische Küste: Im Hafen von Riga sehr lockerer 
Eisbrei, weiter im Fahrwasser dichtes 15-30 cm 
dickes Eis bis Mersrags, dann sehr dichtes 5-15 cm 
dickes Eis bis zur Irbenstraße. In der Irbenstraße, 
ınd bei Kolka kommt es zu Aufpressungen und 
\eueisbildung. Weiter im Fahrwasser bis zur 
Ventspils überwiegend lockeres 5-10 cm dickes Eis. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Auf See im Norden und Osten sehr dichtes Eis, im 
Süden dünnes ebenes Eis. 
Estnische Küste: In der Küstennähe kommt in der 
\larva Bucht ein Festeissaum vor, sonst sehr 
dichtes, 5-15cm dickes Eis. In der Kunda- und 
Vuugabucht liegt 5-15cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis. In 
Tallinnbucht liegt nah der Küste 5-15cm dickes 
Festeis, weiter außerhalb kommt 3-7cm dickes 
dichtes Eis vor. - Finnische Küste: In den Schären 
jegt 20-40 cm dickes Festeis, außerhalb davon liegt 
sehr dichtes Eis, im Westen 15-30cm dickes und 
aufgepresst und im Osten 25-40cm dick und stark 
aufgepresst. Im Osten liegt aber stellenweise auch 
a1ur Neueis. - Russische Küste: In den Häfen von 
St. Petersburg liegt Festeis. Weiter westwärts im 
Fahrwasser bis Kotlin 40-55 cm dickes Festeis, 
gefolgt von 20-35cm dicken zusammenhängenden 
Eis bis Malyj, in dem stellenweise auch dünneres 
Eis vorkommt. Weiter außerhalb dann sehr dichtes 
15-30cm dickes Eis. - Die innere Vyborabucht ist mit
