Archipelago Sea. VOIMA assists in the central Gulf of Finland. SISU and NORDICA assist in the eastern
Gulf of Finland.
Germany
The northern approach to Stralsund, the southern Peenestrom and Kleines Haff are closed for navigation. Only
daytime navigation is allowed to Stralsund.
lIcebreaker: ARKONA and GÖRMITZ are assisting in the eastern approach to Stralsund, on the northern
Peenestrom and in the Greifswalder Bodden. FAIRPLAY V assists in Wismar harbour. In the port of
Hamburg the ice is being broken and ships are assisted if necessary.
Latvia
Call on VHF channel 16 or 13 for icebreaker VARMA, or mobile phone +37129341982 or +37129272477.
Icebreaker: VARMA assists in the Gulf of Riga and in Irben Strait, no servive for tugs and barges.
Norway
Navigation in Vesterelva is temporarily closed. In the area of Drammensfjorden, Huseysund and in the area of
Tonsberg harbour navigation is possible with icebreaker assistance. In the inner harbour of Sandefjorden
contact Sandefjord Harbour for ice breaking, +4791327783. Navigation in Langärdsund is temporarily
closed.
Russia
Tow boat-barges are not assisted to St. Petersburg, Vyborg, Vysotsk and Ust-Luga.
Icebreaker: Icebreakers SEMYAN DEZNEV, KAPITAN ZARUBIN, IVAN KRUZENSTERN and YURI
_ISYANSKI assist low-powered vessels in the port of St. Petersburg. In the ports Vyborg and Vysotsk low-
powered vessels are assisted by icebreaker KAPITAN IZMAILOW and SANKT PETERSBURG. ERMAK and
MOSKVA are working in the port of Primorsk. TOR is assisting in the port Ust Luga.
On the fairway from the receiving buoy to the ice edge vessels are assisting by icebreakers MUDJUG and
KAPITAN SOROKIN. The point of convoy formation is 59° 45’N 26° 16'E.
Sweden
Transit traffic through western part of the Quark is prohibited.
Transit traffic through Öregrundsgrepen and Kalmarsund not advisable for low powered vessels.
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental
cebreaker assistance.
All ships entering harbours in the Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn (59° 33’N 20° 01’E),
contact ICEINFO on VHF channel 84.
Arrival report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, when the ship is well moored, including ship’s
ı1ame, ETD and next port of destination.
Jeparture report is to be made to ICEINFO, on VHF channel 16, at least 6 hours before departure.
Icebreaker: YMER and ATLE assist in Bay of Bothnia. FREJ assists in the Quark. BALDER VIKING assists
‚n the northern Sea of Bothnia. TOR VIKING assists in the southern Sea of Bothnia. SCANDICA assists in
the Lake Vänern and in DYNAN Göta River.
