Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
N-lich der Linie Stockholm — Ristna treiben Gürtel 
nit lockerem 5-30 cm dicken Eis. 
Lettische Küste: Im Hafen von Ventspils treibt sehr 
ockeres Eis. - Schwedische Küste: In den inneren 
Schären liegt 10-40 cm dickes, morsch werdendes 
Festeis. Im Kalmarsund kommt sehr dichtes, bis zu 
30 cm dickes Eis vor; Schifffahrt durch Kalmarsund 
ist nicht empfehlenswert. Mälarsee: Mit bis zu 40 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt, im zentralen Bereich 
kommen offene Stellen vor. Vänernsee: Ebenes 
oder sehr dichtes Eis, 20-40 cm dick. In den Djurö 
Schären kommen einige schwere Presseisrücken 
vor. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
North of the line Stockholm — Ristna belts with 
open 5-30 cm thick ice are drifting. 
Latvian Coast: In the port of Ventspils very open 
ice is drifting. - Swedish coast: In the inner 
archipelagos there is 10-40 cm thick rottening fast 
ice. In Kalmarsund there is very close, up to 30 cm 
rhick drift ice; Transit traffic through Kalmarsund is 
not advisable. Lake Mälaren: Covered with up to 
40 cm thick fast ice. In the central part there are 
open areas. Lake Vänern: Level or very close ice, 
20-40 cm thick. There are some heavy ridges in the 
Djurö archipelago. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: Der Moonsund ist mit 20-40 cm, 
die Pärnubucht mit 45-55 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. Weiter im Fahrwasser zur Irbenstraße liegt 
sehr dichtes, aufgepresstes 15-25 cm dickes Eis. In 
der Irbenstraße treibt sehr lockeres Eis. - Lettische 
Küste: Im Hafen von Riga offenes Wasser. Entlang 
der Küste zur Irbenstraße erstreckt sich ein 10-20 
km breites Gebiet mit offenem Wasser. In der 
irbenstraBe kommt sehr lockeres Eis vor. Das 
Fahrwasser Irbenstraße — Ventspils ist überwiegend 
eisfrei. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In Moon Sound there is 20- 
40 cm, in the Pärnu Bay 45-55 cm thick fast ice. 
Farther out on the fairway to Irben Strait there is 
very close, ridged 15-25 cm thick ice. In the Irben 
Strait there is very open drift ice. - Latvian Coast: 
In the port of Riga very open ice. Along the coast to 
ırben Strait there is a 10-20 km wide zone of open 
water, and in the Irben Strait very open ice occurs 
The fairway Irben Strait — Ventspils is mostly ice- 
free. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Narva Bucht Festeis an der 
Küste, außerhalb davon sehr dichtes Eis. In der 
Kundabucht lockeres Eis. In der Muugabucht 
Festeis und lockeres 15-30 cm dickes Eis. In der 
Bucht von Tallinn dichtes Eis. Außerhalb der Küste 
verläuft W-wärts bis zur Länge von Naissaar eine 3- 
7 sm breite Rinne mit sehr lockerem Eis, weiter W- 
lich liegt dichtes bis sehr dichtes 15-35 cm dickes 
Eis. - Finnische Küste: Das Festeis in den Schären 
ist im Westen 20-50 cm, im Osten 25-60 cm dick. 
Außerhalb davon kommt W-lich von Haapasaari auf 
2-20 sm sehr lockeres bis lockeres 5-30 cm dickes 
Eis, weiter S-lich dichtes bis sehr dichtes 10-40 cm 
dickes Eis vor. - Russische Küste: In den Häfen 
von St. Petersburg liegt Festeis. Weiter W-lich im 
Fahrwasser bis Kotlin 45-65 cm dickes Festeis, 
dann sehr dichtes 30-50 cm dickes Eis bis MoSCnyj, 
anschließend sehr dichtes bis dichtes 25-40 cm 
dickes Eis bis zur Länge von Rod$Ser. Weiter 
außerhalb kommt erst bis zur Länge von Kap 
Jmindanina sehr lockeres, dann dichtes 15-35 cm 
dickes Eis vor. - Die Vyborgbucht ist mit 45-65 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt, weiter bis zum Leuchtturm 
Sommers kommt sehr dichtes 30-50 cm dickes Eis, 
dann sehr dichtes bis dichtes 25-40 cm dickes Eis 
vor. - Im Berkezund liegt 45-60 cm dickes Festeis, in 
der Einfahrt sehr dichtes 30-50 cm dickes Eis. - In 
der Lugabucht 25-45 cm dickes Festeis bis zur 
Breite von Kap Luto, anschließend sehr dichtes 25- 
45 cm dickes Eis. In der Copora Bucht 25-45 cm 
dickes Festeis an der Küste, dann kommt sehr 
dichtes 25-45 cm dickes Eis vor. 
Gulf of Finland 
Estonian Coast: In the Bight of Narva there is fast 
ice near the coast and very close ice farther out. In 
the Kunda Bay there is open ice. In the Muuga Bay 
there is fast ice and open 15-30 cm thick ice. In the 
Tallinn Bay there is very close ice. Off the coast 
there is westwards to the longitude of Naissaar a 3- 
/ nm wide lead with very open drift ice, farther west 
slose to very close 15-35 cm thick ice occurs. - 
Finnish Coast: In the archipelagos there is 20-50 
am thick fast ice in the west and 25-60 cm thick fast 
ce in the east. Farther out there is west of 
Haapasaari for 2-20 nm very open to open 5-30 cm 
thick ice. Farther south there is close to very close 
10-40 cm thick ice. - Russian Coast: In the 
n1arbours of St. Petersburg there is fast ice. Farther 
westwards on the fairway 45-65 cm thick fast ice

thick fast ice up to the latitude of Cape Luto, farther 
dut there is very close 25-45 cm thick ice. In the 
Copora Bay 25-45 cm thick fast ice along the coast, 
farther out there is very close 25-45 cm thick ice.
