3.1.4. Summary for entire RFI situation, L5/E5a band
The increase of the received RF power of the top antenna element is depicted on Figure 3-29. From
June 1 until November 11 there were 418 interference occurrences that raised the input power
above 1 dB in the L1 band, and 528 in the L5 band (see Table 2). This is indicative of how much
more often the L5 band is affected by interference than the L1 band, although the system was not
orogrammed to record snapshots triggered by detection in L5. Every RFI detection in L5 was
recorded only when interference was also detected in the L1 band, or when it occurred in the one-
hour interval of nominal situation of the L1 band. In other words, all L5 interference that may have
occurred between the one-hour period of nominal situation were not recorded.

In the whole campaign, a total of 4204 interference occurrences on L5 was recorded, and it
happened mostly at the beginning of the measurement campaign, specially the RFI above weak
level, see the graphics on Figure 3-30.
