Strengthening international ties - establishing networks 
The BSH is a member in about 30 
international organisations, where 
it co-operates with other states 
to establish uniform international 
standards and takes an active part, at 
an early stage, in the development of 
technical Innovations in the fields of 
navigational safety and environmental 
monitoring. The close co-operation In 
these organisations allows optimum 
use of synergy effects, regular 
exchanges of experience, and the 
establishment of functioning networks. 
This holds also for the BSH’s 
participation in national expert bodies 
and the intensive, interdisciplinary 
exchange among science, Industry, 
administration, and politics.
