Nordküste liegt in den Schären zwischen Karlstad 
und Kristinehamn 5-15 cm dickes Festeis. Weiter 
südlich kommt in den geschützten Buchten entlang 
der Küste dünnes ebenes Eis und Neueis vor. 
Neueis auch In Vänersborgsviken. 
Westliche Ostsee 
Deutsche Küste: Im Flensburger Hafen liegt 
etwas Neueis. Der innere Schlei ist stellenweise 
mit 5-10cm dickem Eis bedeckt. Im Hafen Wismar 
‚jegt bis zu 13cm dickes, dichtes Eis, weiter 
außerhalb eisfrei. Der Stadthafen Rostock ist mit 
bis zu 10cm dickem, teilweise übereinanderge- 
schobenem Eis bedeckt. Von dort bis zur Tonne 49 
ist die Unterwarnow mit etwa 6cm dickem Eis be- 
deckt, das Fahrwasser ist aufgebrochen. Im 
Rostocker Überseehafen kommt stellenweise Neu- 
eis vor. Die Bodden südlich vom Darß und Zingst 
sind teilweise mit 5-13 cm dickem Eis bedeckt. 
Südliche Ostsee 
Deutsche Küste: In den inneren Boddenge- 
wässern tritt dünnes lockeres Eis sowie Neueis 
auf. Im Stralsunder Hafen kommt stellenweise 
Neueis vor, von dort nach Norden bis Barhöft liegt 
sehr dichtes Neueis. Von Stralsund bis Palmer Or! 
kommt örtlich Neueis vor. In Küstennähe und in 
geschützten Buchten des südlichen Greifswalder 
Bodden kommt bis zu 9cm dickes Festeis vor, 
ansonsten eisfrei. Auf dem Peenestrom nördlich 
von Wolgast und im Osttief Fahrwasser liegt sehr 
dichtes bis lockeres Neueis. Auf dem südlichen 
Peenestrom liegt 8-12cm dickes Festeis, Das 
Kleinen Haff ist fast vollständig mit 5-10 cm dickem 
Eis bedeckt. Der Peenefluß ist mit 9cm dickem Eis 
bedeckt. - Polnische Küste: Im Stettiner Haff liegt 
sehr dichtes, bis zu 10 cm dickes Eis. Im 
Fahrwasser Szczecin —- Swinoujscie liegt bis 15cm 
dickes, teilweise übereinandergeschobenes Eis. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Schwedische Küste: In geschützten Buchten tritt 
Neueis auf. - Mälarsee: Zwischen Köping und 
Kvicksund liegt 5-15 cm dickes Festeis. Weiter 
östlich kommt dünnes ebenes Eis oder Neueis vor. 
- Lettische Küste: Die Fahrwasser sind eisfrei. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Parnu Bucht liegt 10-15 
cm dickes Festeis. Im Moonsund liegt in der 
Küstenzone Festeis und weiter außerhalb dichtes 
Eis. - Lettische Küste: Im Hafen Riga liegt sehr 
ıockeres Neueis, weniger als 5cm dick. Weiter im 
Fahrwasser Richtung Irbenstraße offenes Wasser. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Narvabucht liegt lockeres 
Eis und in der Kundabucht Neueis. - Finnische 
Küste: In den inneren Schären liegt dünnes Eis. 
Saimaasee: Auf dem See und im Kanal 10-30 cm 
dickes Eis. - Russische Küste: In den Häfen von 
Freitag, den 09.01.2009

Karlstad and Kristinehamn, farther south thin level 
ice or new ice occurs in sheltered bays and harbours 
along the coast. New ice also in Vänersborgsviken. 
Western Baltic 
German Coast: Some new ice occurs in Flensburg 
harbour. The inner Schlei is partly covered with 5-10 
3m thick ice. Close, up to 13cm thick ice in the 
narbour of Wismar, farther out ice free. The city port 
af Rostock is covered by thin ice, which is partly 
rafted and 10 cm thick. On the Unterwarnow, from 
city port to the boy 49, the ice cover is about 6 cm 
thick, fairway is broken. In the sea harbours of 
Rostock there is new ice in places. The Bodden 
yaters south of Darß and Zingst are partly covered 
with 5-13 cm thick fast ice or new ice. 
Southern Baltic 
German Coast: In the inner Bodden waters there is 
thin open ice and new ice. In the harbour of 
Stralsund there is new ice in places, farther 
northwards to Barhöft very close new ice occurs. 
From Stralsund to Palmer Ort there is partly new ice. 
In the coastal areas and sheltered bays of the 
southern Greifswalder Bodden there is up to 9 cm 
thick fast ice, else ice-free. On the Peenestrom north 
of Wolgast and in the fairway Osttief there is very 
Jlose to open new ice. On the southern Peenestrom 
there is 8-12 cm thick fast ice. Kleines Haff is nearly 
totally covered with 5-10 cm thick ice. The Peenefluß 
is covered with about 9 cm thick ice. - Polish Coast: 
In Stettiner Haff there is very close up to 10 cm thick 
‘ce. On the fairway Szczecin —- Swinoujscie up to 15 
cm thick, partly rafted ice occurs. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Swedish coast: New ice occurs in In sheltered 
Days. - Lake Mälaren: In the western part between 
Köping and Kvicksund there is 5-15 cm thick fast ice. 
Farther eastward there is thin level ice or new ice. - 
Latvian Coast: The fairways are ice free. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In Parnu Bay there is 10-15 cm 
thick fast ice. In Moonsund there is fast ice in the 
coastal zone and close ice farther out. - Latvian 
Coast: In the port of Riga there is very open new ice, 
less then 5cm thick. Farther off on the fairway to 
Irben Strait there is very open water. 
Gulf of Finland 
Estonian Coast: There is open ice in the Bay of 
Narva and new ice in the Bay of Kunda. - Finnish 
Coast: There is thin ice in the inner archipelago. 
Lake Saimaa: On the lake and in the Canal there is 
10-30 cm thick ice. - Russian Coast: In the harbours
