Übersicht 
Das Treibeis in der Bottenvik schmilzt und nimmt 
angsam ab. 
Overview 
The drift ice in the Bay of Bothnia is melting and is 
Slowly decreasing. 
Bay of Bothnia 
The ice edge runs approximately along the line 
Repskär — Rödkallen — Ulkokalla. East of this line 
single drifting heavy floes require careful 
navigation. 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
mostly ice-free. At sea there is mostly open water 
near the coast and east of about 24%0' E. 
Otherwise, 20-50 cm thick drift ice occurs up to the 
ice edge along about the line Rödkallen — 
Jikokalla. The concentration of the drift ice varies 
‘rom very close to very open. In the whole region 
heavy floes of ridged ice occur in places. - 
Swedish Coast: Off the coast there is mostly open 
water, but in the area Norströmsgrund — Rödkallen 
- Farstugrunden single heavy floebits are drifting, 
requiring careful navigation. In the central part 
‘here is open to close 10-50 cm thick ice. Thicker 
ice floes or floebits are present in places, specially 
in the region between Rödkallen and Repskär as 
well as between Sandskär and Kemi 2. 
Bottenvik 
Die Eisgrenze verläuft etwa auf der Linie Repskär — 
Rödkallen — Ulkokalla. Östlich dieser Linie erfordern 
vereinzelt treibende grobe Eisschollen vorsichtiges 
Navigieren. 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind 
lberwiegend eisfrei. Auf See tritt in der Küstennähe 
And Östlich von 24%80' E vorwiegend offenes Wasser 
auf. Sonst kommt bis zur Eisgrenze etwa auf der 
Linie Rödkallen — Ulkokalla 20-50 cm dickes 
Treibeis vor. Der Bedeckungsgrad des Treibeises 
variiert von sehr dicht bis sehr locker. Im ganzen 
aebiet treten Örtlich grobe Schollen aus 
aufgepresstem Eis auf. - Schwedische Küste: 
Außerhalb der Küste meist offenes Wasser, aber im 
Gebiet Norströmsgrund _ Rödkallen — 
Farstugrunden treiben einzelne grobe Eisblöcke, 
Nas vorsichtiges Navigieren erfordert. Im zentralen 
Teil liegt lockeres bis dichtes 10-50 cm dickes Eis. 
Es kommen stellenweise auch dickere und grobe 
Eisschollen oder Eisblöcke vor, besonders im 
3ereich zwischen Rödkallen und Repskär sowie 
zwischen Sandskär und Kemi 2. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
In den nächsten zwei Tagen wird das Eis in der 
3ottenvik bei Tageslufttemperaturen um 15°, 
zeitweiligem Regen und schwachen Winden aus 
südlichen Richtungen nur langsam abnehmen.
