Übersicht 
Die Eisverhältnisse in der Bottenvik haben sich seit 
gestern nicht wesentlich geändert. 
Saimaasee: Im Nordteil kommt örtlich morsches Eis 
vor, sonst eisfrei. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären liegt 
40-70 cm dickes, morsch werdendes Festeis. 
Anschließend kommt bis zur Linie Falkensgrund — 
Jlkokalla überwiegend sehr dichtes und stark 
aufgepresstes 20-50 cm dickes Eis vor. Südlich 
davon tritt offenes Wasser auf. In den südlichen 
Schären treibt örtlich morsches Eis, sonst eisfrei. - 
Schwedische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind 
nit 20-60 cm dickem, morsch werdenden Festeis 
bedeckt. Auf See liegt im Nordosten sehr dichtes 
ind aufgepresstes 20-50 cm dickes Eis. Die Eis- 
grenze verläuft etwa auf der Linie Farstugrunden — 
Jikokalla. Südlich dieser Linie kommt überwiegend 
offenes Wasser vor, aber nördlich von Kägnäset 
‚legt ein Gebiet mit dichtem Eis. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Tiefdruckgebiete westlich von Nordskandinavien und 
hre Ausläufer werden das Wetter im nördlichen 
Istseeraum bis über das Wochenende hinaus 
vestimmen. Das Eis auf See in der Bottenvik wird 
erst in die nördlichen, am Montag in die östlichen 
Richtungen treiben. Insgesamt wird das Eis bei 
Tageslufttemperaturen bis zu 10© und zeitweiligem 
Regen zunehmend morsch, der Eisrückgang setzt 
sich weiter fort.

Overview 
The ice conditions in the Bay of Bothnia have not 
changed very much since yesterday. 
Lake Saimaa: In the northern part there is rotten 
ice in places, else ice-free. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern archipelagos there 
is 40-70 cm thick, rottening fast ice. Farther out 
'here is mostly very close and heavily ridged 20-50 
zm thick ice up to about the line Falkensgrund — 
Jlikokalla. Farther southwards open water occurs. 
n the southern archipelagos rotten ice is drifting in 
places, else ice-free. - Swedish Coast: The 
northern archipelagos are covered with 20-60 cm 
'hick rottening fast ice. At sea there is in the 
northeastern part mostly very close and ridged 20- 
50 cm thick ice. The ice edge runs approximately 
along the line Farstugrunden — Ulkokalla. South of 
this line open water occurs, but north of Kägnäset 
there is an area with close ice. 
Expected Ice Development 
Low pressure areas west of northern Scandinavia 
and their troughs will affect the weather in the 
northern region of the Baltic Sea past the week- 
end. The ice at sea in the Bay of Bothnia will drift 
Ärst in the northerly, on Monday in the easterly 
directions. Altogether, at air temperatures up to 
.0C during the day time and temporary rain ice 
will get increasingly rotten, the decrease of ice will 
continue.
