von Falkensgrund über 6 sm westlich von Ulkokalla 
1ach Kokkola. Auf See können einzelne Eisschollen 
und Eisblöcke treiben, sonst eisfrei. 
ice. In the north-eastern part there is mostly very 
close and ridged 20-50 cm thick ice with heavy 
‘oes in between. A wide lead extends from 
Malören to the north of Farstugrunden. The ice 
edge is running from about Falkensgrund via 6 nm 
west of Ulkokalla to Kokkola. At sea single ice floes 
and floebits may drift, else ice-free. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
in den nächsten zwei Tagen wird sich im nördlichen 
Ostseeraum eine windschwache Hochdruckwetter- 
'age einstellen, die bis zum Ende dieser Woche 
wetterbestimmend bleibt. Trotz örtlicher Nachtfröste 
wird sich der jahreszeitliche Eisrückgang in der 
3ottenvik durch die tagsüber deutlich ansteigenden 
ı_ufttemperaturen und verstärkte Sonneneinstrah- 
‚ung fortsetzen. Die Eisverhältnisse im finnischen 
Küstenbereich bleiben aber weiterhin schwierig, da 
das Eis dort zusammengeschoben liegen bleibt. 
Expected Ice Development 
A high pressure weather situation will arise in the 
northern region of the Baltic Sea during the next 
two days and will affect the weather until the end of 
this week. In spite of local night frost, the seasonal 
retreat of the ice in the Bay of Bothnia will continue 
due to increasingly air temperatures and intensified 
insolation during the daytime. The ice conditions off 
the Finnish coast remain difficult as the ice will be 
further compacted there.

cebreaker assistance. All ships entering harbours in the Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn
