Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung
Beim leichten
bis mäßigen Nachtfrost und Tageslufttemperaturen
Jim den Gerfrierpunkt ist keine wesentliche
Eiszunahme zu erwarten. Die Eisfelder in der
3ottenvik und im Finnischen Meerbusen werden
sich südwärts auflockern.

Norra Kvarken
At sea there is very close 10-25 cm thick drift ice in
places, but mostly open water occurs.
Finnish Coast: Between Vaasa and Ensten there
is 20-45 cm thick fast ice, farther off open water
occurs. - Swedish Coast: In bays and harbours
along the coast and the west of Holmöarna there is
20-40 cm thick fast ice. In the area Väktaren —
Nordvalen — Sydostbrotten — Längrogrund there is
very close 10-25 cm thick ice. Otherwise, mostly
open water occurs.
Bay of Bothnia
At sea there is up to the latitude of Kokkola very
close and in the north heavily ridged 20-60 cm thick
ice. South of it open water occurs.
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are
covered up to the line Kemi 2 — Qulu 1 with 40-70
zm, the southern archipelagos with 20-50 cm thick
'ast ice. Farther out, in the northern part, there is
very close, heavily ridged 30-60 cm thick ice. In the
southern part there is north of Kokkola a narrow
coastal lead and farther westwards very close 10-
30 cm thick drift ice. South of Kokkola mostly open
water occurs. - Swedish Coast: The northern
archipelago are covered with 20-70 cm, the
southern archipelagos with up to 60 cm thick fast
ice. At sea there is mostly very close 20-40 cm
'hick ice with ridges. North of Falkensgrund there
are areas of up to 50 cm thick floes, farther south
only single thicker floes occur. A narrow lead has
opened from Bjuröklubb via MNygrän and
Norströmsgrund towards Malören. South of
Bjuröklubb to Holmöarna there is a 10-20 nm wide
area with new ice, but close 3-10 cm thick ice
occurs off Blackkallen and Rata Storgrund there.
Expected Ice Development
The low over the Baltic States will move to the
southeast in the course of today. On Thursday, the
weather in the northern region of the Baltic Sea will
be set by a high area west of Scandinavia. In the
Gulf of Bothnia the wind will shift to the northwest
to west, in the Gulf of Finland to the north. At light
‘o moderate night frost and air temperatures
around the freezing point in the daytime, no
sssential ice formation is to be expected. The ice
jelds in the Bay of Bothnia and in the Gulf of
Einland will somewhat loose southwards.
