Übersicht 
In der nördlichen Bottenvik dauert die Eisbildung 
an, auch an der Küste der Pärnubucht im 
Rigaischen Meerbusen hat sich Neueis gebildet. 
Achtung: Saimaa Kanal wird am Sonntag, den 
18. Januar für die Schifffahrt geschlossen. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnu Bucht kommt an 
der Küste Neueis vor. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: Saimaasee: Im Nordteil kommt 
örtlich Neueis vor. - Russische Küste: Auf Newa 
treiben dichte bis lockere Eisbreiklümpchen. In 
den Häfen von St. Petersburg und weiter 
westwärts im Fahrwasser bis zur Länge von 
Kotlin kommt dunkler Nilas und Eisbrei vor. - Die 
nnere Vyborgbucht ist mit zusammenge- 
schobenem 5-10 cm dicken Eis bedeckt, weiter 
außerhalb kommt im Fahrwasser dunkler Nilas 
und Neueis vor. 
Bottensee 
Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren 
Buchten und kleineren Häfen tritt örtlich lockeres 
dünnes Treibeis oder Neueis auf. Der nördliche 
Ängermanälv ist mit 5-10 cm dickem Festeis 
Dedeckt, im südlichen Teil kommt wechselweise 
ffenes Wasser und lockeres dünnes Treibeis 
vor.

Overview 
In the northern Bay of Bothnia ice formation 
continues. On the coast of the Pärnu Bay in the Gulf 
of Riga new ice has formed, too. 
Attention: Saimaa Canal will be closed for traffic on 
Sunday, 18" January. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is new ice 
along the coast. 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: Lake Saimaa: In the northern part 
there is partly new ice. - Russian Coast: On Newa 
close and open shuga is drifting. In the harbours of St. 
Petersburg and farther westwards on the fairway to the 
ongitude of Kotlin there is dark nilas and shuga. - The 
nner Vyborg Bay is covered with compact 5-10 cm 
thick ice. Farther out on the fairway there is dark nilas 
and new ice. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Swedish Coast: In the northern inner bays and small 
‘harbours there is open thin drift ice or new ice, in 
places. The northern Ängermanälv is covered with 5- 
10 cm thick fast ice, in the southern part alternating 
open water and open thin drift ice occurs.
