Vänersee: An der Nordküste und in der 
Vänersborgsviken liegt 10-25 cm dickes Festeis. 
Weiter außerhalb kommt an den Küsten Neueis und 
Neueisbildung vor. 
Farther off there is new ice and new ice formation 
along the coasts 
Westliche Ostsee 
Dänische Küste: In den kleinen Häfen und 
geschützten Buchten kommt dünnes Eis oder 
Neueis vor. - Deutsche Küste: Im Hafen Flensburg 
Jnd teilweise in der Flensburger Innenförde tritt 
dünnes Eis und Neueis auf. Auf der Schlei kommt im 
Hafen Schleswig 3-6 cm dickes Eis und weiter bis 
Schleimünde in den geschützten Bereichen Neueis 
vor. Im Hafen Neustadt, im Stadthafen Rostock und 
auf der Unterwarnow liegt eine fast geschlossene 
Neueisdecke. Die Boddengewässer südlich vom 
Darß und Zingst sind mit etwa 5 cm dickem Eis und 
Neueis bedeckt. 
Südliche Ostsee 
Deutsche Küste: In den inneren Boddengewässern 
kommt örtlich dünnes Randeis und Eisschlamm vor. 
im Hafen Stralsund tritt Schneeschlamm auf. In den 
Häfen Greifswald-Wieck und Greifswald-Ladebow 
sowie in der Dänischen Wiek liegt fast geschlossene 
5-10 cm dicke Eisdecke. An der Nordküste des 
Greifswalder Boddens kommt ANeueis und 
Schneeschlamm vor. Der südliche Peenestrom ist 
mit dünnem Eis oder Neueis bedeckt. Im 
Achterwasser liegt etwa 15 cm dickes Festeis. An 
der Nordküste des Kleinen Haffs kommt 10 cm 
dickes Festeissaum, etwa 600 m breit, und Neueis 
vor. In der Südhälfte ist das sehr dichte 10-15 cm 
dicke Eis zusammen- und übereinandergeschoben. 
Polnische Küste: Im Hafen Swinoujscie offenes 
Wasser. Im Haff 5-10 cm dickes lockeres Eis, 
welches im Fahrwasser Szeczecin — Swinoujscie 
teilweise übereinandergeschoben ist. Im Hafen 
Szezecin sehr lockeres 5-10 cm dickes Eis. 
Mittlere und Nördliche Ostsee 
Lettische Küste: Eisfrei. - Russische Küste: In der 
Zufahrt nach Kaliningrad liegt 10-15 cm dickes 
Festeis, außerhalb davon etwas Treibeis. - 
Schwedische Küste: In geschützten Buchten und 
Schären kommt dünnes ebenes Eis oder Neueis 
vor. Mälarsee: Mit 15-30 cm dickem Festeis oder 
ebenem Eis bedeckt. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
im nördlichen und nordwestlichen Teil treibt lockeres 
5-15 cm dickes Eis und Neueis. 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnu Bucht liegt 20-28 cm 
dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon kommt bis zur 
Breite der Insel Kihnu sehr dichtes 10-20 cm dickes 
Eis und anschließend auf etwa 15-20 sm dunkler 
Nilas und Neueis vor. Im Moonsund liegt in der 
Küstenzone 15-30 cm dickes Festeis, außerhalb 
davon sehr dichtes 10-20 cm dickes Eis. - Lettische 
Küste: Im Hafen von Riga und im Fahrwasser 
zwischen Riga und Irbenstraße kommt sehr lockeres 
Western Baltic 
Danish coast: In small harbours and sheltered 
bays there is thin ice or new ice. - German Coast: 
There is thin ice or new ice in the harbour of 
Flensburg and partly in the Flensburger Innenförde. 
On the Schlei there is up to 6 cm thick ice in the 
harbour of Schleswig, farther out to Schleimünde 
some new ice occurs at the shore. In the harbour of 
Neustadt, in city harbour of Rostock and on the 
Unterwarnow there is new ice cover. The Bodden 
waters south of Darß and Zingst are covered by 
about 5 em thick ice and new ice. 
Southern Baltic 
German Coast: In the inner Bodden waters there 
is thin ice and slush near the shore. In the harbour 
of Stralsund there is grease ice. The harbours 
Greifswald-Wieck and Greifswald-Ladebow as well 
as the Dänische Wiek are nearly totally covered 
with 5-10 cm thick ice. New ice occurs at the 
northern shore of the Greifswalder Bodden. On the 
southern Peenestrom there is ice cover of thin ice 
ar new ice. The Achterwasser is covered by about 
‘5 cm fast ice. At the northern shore of the Kleines 
Haff there is about 10 cm thick fast ice and new 
ice, the southern part is covered with very close 10- 
15 cm thick ice, which is rafted and compacted. - 
Polish Coast: Open water in the harbour of 
Swinoujscie. In Stettiner Haff open 5-10 cm tick ice, 
an the fairway Szczecin — Swinoujscie the ice is 
partly rafted and broken. In the harbour of Szczecin 
there is very open 5-10 cm tick ice. 
Central and Northern Baltic 
Latvian Coast: Ice-free. - Russian Coast: In the 
antrance to Kaliningrad there is 10-15 cm thick fast 
ice, off the fast ice some drift ice is found. - 
Swedish coast: In sheltered bays and 
archipelagos there is thin level ice or new ice. Lake 
Mälaren: Covered by 15-30 cm thick fast ice or 
level ice. 
Gulf of Riga 
In the northern and northwestern part open 5-15 
zm thick ice and new ice is drifting. 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is 20-28 
sm thick fast ice. Farther out up to latitude of island 
Kihnu there is very close 10-20 cm thick ice, 
followed by dark nilas and new ice for about 15-20 
nm. In the coastal zone of the Moonsund there is 
15-30 cm thick fast ice, farther off very close 10-20 
zm thick ice. - Latvian Coast: In the port of Riga 
and on the fairway between Riga and Irben Strait 
there is open new ice or open water, else ice-free.
