Finland
The Saimaa Canal is closed for traffic.
Icebreaker: OTSO, KONTIO and SISU assist in the Bay of Bothnia. URHO is assisting in the southern Bay
of Bothnia.
Norway
Navigation in Langärsund (Kragerg) is temporarily closed
Russia
Tow boat-barges are not assisted to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga.
Icebreaker: Low-powered vessels to St. Petersburg can be assisted at need by port icebreakers IVAN
K<RUZENSTERN, YURI LISYANSKI, KAPITAN ZARUBIN, SEMYAN DEZNEV and KAPITAN SOROKIN, in
‘he port Primorsk by icebreaker ERMAK and in the ports Vyborg and Vysotsk by icebreakers KAPITAN
IZMAILOV and TOR. Low-powered vessels in port Ust-Luga are assisted by icebreaker KARU.
The point of convoy formation is 9-10 buoy.
Sweden
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental
cebreaker assistance.
All ships entering harbours in the Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn (N 59°33’ E 20° 01’)
contact the VTS Gävle on VHF channel 84.
Icebreaker: YMER and ATLE assist in the northern Bay of Bothnia. FREJ assists in the Quark. ALE assists
n Lake Vänern.
