Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären liegt dünnes 
Festeis, außerhalb davon auf 2-5 sm dünnes Eis 
Jnd Neueis. - Schwedische Küste: In den inneren 
Buchten und Häfen zwischen Ornsköldsvik und 
Gävle liegt 10-25 cm dickes ebenes Eis. Außerhalb 
davon kommt entlang der Küste Neueis und Eisbrei 
vor. Der Angermanälv ist mit 15-30 cm dickem 
Festeis bedeckt. Auf See eisfrei. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: There is thin fast ice in the 
archipelago, farther off thin ice and new ice occurs 
tor 2-5 nm. - Swedish Coast: In the inner bays and 
harbours there is 10-25 cm thick level ice between 
Örnsköldsvik and Gävle. Farther off along the coast 
ihere is new ice and shuga. The Angermanälv is 
covered with 15-30 cm thick fast ice. At sea ice

Norra Kvarken 
Vollkommen eisbedeckt. 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten liegt 
20-30 cm dickes Festeis, anschließend kommt bis 
Norra Gloppsten zusammengeschobenes dünnes 
Eis vor. - Schwedische Küste: In den Buchten und 
Häfen entlang der Küste liegt 10-35 cm dickes 
abenes Eis. Außerhalb davon kommt lockeres bis 
dichtes 5-15 cm dickes Treibeis und Neueis vor. 
Norra Kvarken 
Totally ice covered. 
Finnish Coast: Between Vaasa and Ensten there 
s 20-30 cm thick fast ice, farther off compact thin 
‘ce occurs to Norra Gloppsten. - Swedish Coast: 
In bays and harbours along the coast there is 10- 
35 cm thick level ice. Farther off there is open to 
close 5-15 cm thick ice and new ice. 
Bottenvik 
Nördlich 6450'N vollkommen eisbedeckt, weiter 
südlich verläuft die Eisgrenze entlang der Küste, 
atwa 15 sm von der finnischen und etwa 20 sm von 
der schwedischen Küste entfernt. 
Finnische Küste: Die nördlichen Schären sind mit 
35-60 cm, die südlichen Schären mit 20-35 cm 
dickem Festeis bedeckt. Außerhalb der Festeis- 
grenze kommt sehr dichtes dünnes Eis und Neueis 
dis zur Linie Skellefteä — Oulu 1 — Valassaaret. - 
Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 25- 
50 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon liegt bis zur 
Breite 65°N dichtes und sehr dichtes bis zu 50 cm 
dickes Eis. In der Skellefteä Bucht tritt auf 35 sm 
dichtes 10-30 cm dickes Treibeis auf. In den 
südlichen Schären kommt bis zu 30 cm dickes 
abenes Eis oder Festeis vor, außerhalb davon 
verläuft zwischen Blackkallen und Rata Storgrund 
antlang der Küste eine mit Neueis bedeckte Rinne, 
dann liegt bis zur finnischen Küste dichtes bis sehr 
dichtes 5-15 cm dickes Eis. 
Bay of Bothnia 
North of about 6450'N totally ice covered, to the 
south the ice edge runs along the coast, in about 
15 nm distance from the Finnish coast and about 
20 nm from the Swedish coast. 
Finnish Coast: The northern archipelagos are 
covered with 35-60 cm, the southern archipelagos 
with 20-35 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice edge 
ihere is to the line Skelleftea — Oulu 1 — 
Valassaaret very close thin ice and new ice. - 
Swedish Coast: In the northern archipelago there 
s 25-50 cm thick fast ice. Farther off there is to the 
.atitude 65° N close and very close up to 50 cm 
thick ice. In the Bay of Skellefteä there is for 35 nm 
close 10-30 cm thick ice. In the southern 
archipelagoes there is up to 30 cm thick level or 
fast ice. Farther out a lead with new ice runs along 
the coast from Blackkallen to Rata Storgrund, then 
close to very close 5-15 cm thick ice occurs up to 
the Finish coast. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Die nördliche Eisdrift in der Bottenvik wird weitere 
zwei Tage andauern. Bei mäßigem bis starkem 
Frost setzt sich die Eisbildung im Bottnischen 
Meerbusen fort. Im Finnischen Meerbusen und im 
südlichen Ostseeraum ist vorerst keine wesentliche 
Eiszunahme zu erwarten. 
Expected Ice Development 
The ice in the Bay of Bothnia will drift northwards 
for another two days. At moderate to strong frost, 
ce formation in the Gulf of Bothnia will continue. 
NO essential ice increase is to be expected in the 
Gulf of Finland and in the southern region of the 
Baltic Sea ice for the time being.
