Finland 
The Saimaa Canal is closed for traffic. 
icebreaker: OTSO, KONTIO and SISU assist in the Bay of Bothnia. 
Norway 
Navigation in Langärsund (Kragerg) is temporarily closed. 
Russia 
Tow boat-barges are not assisted to St. Petersburg and Primorsk. 
icebreaker: Low-powered vessels to St. Petersburg can be assisted at need by port icebreakers KARU, 
IVAN KRUZENSTERN, YURI LISYANSKI and MUDJUG, in the port Primorsk by icebreaker SOROKIN and 
in the ports Vyborg and Vysotsk by icebreakers KAPITAN IZMAILOV and TOR. 
Sweden 
Vessels not suitable for winter navigation, river vessels and tugs with barge can not expect governmental 
cebreaker assistance. 
All ships entering harbours in the Gulf of Bothnia shall, when passing Svenska Björn (N 59°33’ E 20° 01’) 
contact the VTS Gävle on VHF channel 84.
