Übersicht 
Die Eisverhältnisse im nördlichen Bottnischen 
Meerbusen haben sich seit gestern nicht wesentlich 
geändert. 
Overview 
The ice conditions in the northern Gulf of Bothnia 
have not changed very much since yesterday. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: Im Nordteil des Saimaasees liegt 
morsch werdendes 20-30 cm dickes Eis, im 
zentralen Teil ist das Eis 5-15 cm dick und morsch. 
Der Saimaa Kanal ist eisfrei. 
Bottensee . 
Schwedische Küste: Auf dem nördlichen Anger- 
manälv kommt sehr lockeres, 10-15 cm dickes, 
morsches Eis vor. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären von 
VYaasa liegt dünnes morsches Eis, sonst eisfrei. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 30-60 
om dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon kommt auf See, 
abgesehen von einzelnen treibenden Eisschollen, 
offenes Wasser vor. In den südlichen inneren 
Schären tritt dünnes morsches Eis auf, außerhalb 
davon eisfrei. Schwedische Küste: In den nörd- 
lichen Schären 25-50 cm dickes Festeis. Die 
Eisgrenze auf See verläuft im Norden entlang der 
Länge 23° E, dann 5 sm östlich von Farstugrunden 
und in süd-südwestlicher Richtung weiter bis zur 
Breite von Blackkallen. Westlich dieser Linie tritt sehr 
dichtes bis dichtes 10-50 cm dickes, teilweise 
aufgepresstes Eis auf. Im Eisfeld kommen bis zu 50 
cm dieke Schollen und Bereiche mit sehr lockerem 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: On the northern Lake Saimaa there 
s 20-30 cm thick rottening ice, in the central part 5-15 
cm thick rotten ice occurs. The Saimaa Canal is ice- 
free. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Swedish Coast: On the northern Ängermanälv 
there is very open 10-15 cm thick ratten ice. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelago of Vaasa 
there is thin rotten ice, else ice-free. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern archipelago 30-60 
cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice there is mostly 
apen water with some drifting ice floes in places. In 
the southern inner archipelagos there is thin rotten 
ice, farther off the sea is ice-free. Swedish Coast: 
The northern archipelago are covered with 25-50 
cm thick fast ice. The ice limits in the North runs 
along the longitude 23°E, then passes 5 nm east of 
Farstugrunden and continues in direction south- 
southwest to the latitude of Blackkallen. West of 
this line there is very close to close 10-50 cm thick, 
partly ridged ice. In the ice field there are single up 
to 50 cm thick heavy floes and areas of very open 
ice and of open water in between. In the northern
