Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 30-60 
sm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon fast vollständig 
offenes Wasser bis nach Norra Kvarken, aber 
vereinzelt findet man noch sehr lockeres Treibeis 
und Eisbrei. Die südlichen Schären sind mit 5-20 cm 
dickem, morschen Festeis bedeckt. Schwedische 
Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 25-60 cm dickes 
-esteis. Auf See, in der Gegend Falkensgrund - 
Nordströmsgrund sowie bei _Farstugrunden, 
kompaktes 20-40 cm dickes und dichtes 5-30 cm 
dickes Treibeis, in dem alte Presseisrücken zu finden 
sind. Von südlich Nygran bis zur Skellefteäbucht ein 
10-15 sm breites Gebiet mit offenem Wasser. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Im finnischen Meerbusen nimmt bei nur geringer 
=isdrift das Eis insgesamt weiter ab. In der 
nördlichen Bottenvik bleiben die Temperaturen um 
den Gefrierpunkt, die Eisabnahme ist nur gering. Das 
Fis driftet, angetrieben von den nordöstlichen 
Winden nach Süd-Südwest.

Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern archipelago 30-60 
cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice the sea is virtually 
open from Kemi-2 to Norra Kvarken, with some 
splattered areas with very open drift ice and brash 
ice. The southern archipelagos are covered with 5- 
20 cm thick, rotten fast ice. Swedish Coast: In the 
northern archipelago fast ice, 25-60 cm thick. At 
sea in the regions Falkensgrund to Nordströms- 
grund and at Farstugrunden compact ice 20-40 cm 
thick and close, 5-30 cm thick drift ice. There are 
old ridges within the ice fields. From south of 
Nygran to the Skellefteä Bight there is a 10-15nm 
wide area of open water. 
Expected Ice Development 
In the Gulf of Finland the ice drift will be small and 
the ice retreat will continue. In the northern Bay of 
Bothnia the temperatures will stay around zero, 
therefore the ice retreat will be slow. Driven by 
1orth-easterly winds, the ice will drift towards the 
south/south-west.
