Eis vor. Der nördliche Ängermanälv ist mit 10-30
sm dickem Festeis bedeckt. Nördlich von Gävle
kommt in geschützten Buchten und Häfen dünnes
ebenes Eis oder Neueis vor.
Norra Kvarken
Finnische Küste: Von 15sm nordöstlich von
Nordvalen in Richtung Südwesten liegt dünnes Eis,
Neueis und einige bis 30cm dicke Eisschollen.
Zwischen Vaasa und Nygrund liegt 10-30 cm dickes
-esteis, weiter außerhalb Neueis bis zu Norrskär.
Schwedische Küste: In der Einfahrt nach Holmsund
kommt teilweise dichtes 5-10 cm dickes Eis vor.
Nordöstlich von Nordvalen treiben einige 20-30cm
dicke Schollen, ansonsten auf See dichtes, 5-15cm
dickes ebenes Eis.
Bottenvik
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 30-60
om dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon erstreckt sich
ein großes Gebiet mit 10-20cm dicken ebenem Eis.
Südlich und westlich der Linie Nahkiainen -
Norströmsgrund/Oulu-1 - MNordvalen liegt sehr
dichtes 20-45 cm dickes aufgepresstes Eis und 10-20
cm dickes übereinandergeschobenes Eis. In den
südlichen Schären liegt 10-20 cm dickes Festeis,
weiter außerhalb bis zur Norra Kvarken Neueis und
dünnes Eis. Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen
Schären 25-60 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon
liegt westlich von 23°O0 bis hinunter zur Breite von
Blackkallen größtenteils sehr dichtes, 20-40cm
dickes Treibeis, durchzogen von mit Neueis oder
dünnem ebenem Eis bedeckten Rinnen. Ansonsten
im Norden und Osten 10-20 cm dickes, ebenes Eis.
Im Süden liegt 5-15cm dickes, ebenes Eis sowie ein
Gebiet mit teilweise dichtem, 20-30cm dicken Eis.
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung
Ein Tief, welches von Osteuropa kommen über
-innland nach Norden zieht, sorgt in den nächsten
Tagen in der Bottenvik und der nördlichen Bottensee
‘ür weiter anhaltenden Frost. Dort dreht der Wind
zum Dienstag hin auf Nord und dann auch Nordwesi
und frischt auf. Es bildet sich weiterhin Neueis und
das Eis verschiebt sich in Richtung Süden und
Südosten, so dass es besonders im Südosten der
Bottenvik zu Pressungen kommt Im Norden kann
sich eine Rinne bilden, die aber gleich von Neueis
bedeckt wird. Im finnischen Meerbusen kommt es,
bei zwar teilweise frischen Wind, der aber aus
unterschiedlichen Richtungen kommt, zu keiner
größeren Eisdrift. Auch sich in der Nacht bildendes
Neueis löst sich tagsüber wieder auf, so dass es
insgesamt zu keiner großen Änderung der Eislage
kommt.

Ängermanälv is covered with 10-30 cm thick fast
ice. To the north of Gävle thin level ice or new ice is
found in sheltered bays and harbours.
Norra Kvarken
Finnish Coast: From 15nm north-east of Nordvalen
and stretching towards the south-west there is thin
ice, new ice as well as some up to 30cm thick floes.
Between Vaasa to Nygrund there is 10-30 cm thick
fast ice, farther out new ice to Norrskär. Swedish
Coast: In the entrance to Holmsund there is partly
close ice, 5-10 cm thick. To the north-east of
Nordvalen some 20-30cm thick floes are drifting,
else at sea there is close, 5-15cm thick level ice.
Bay of Bothnia
Finnish Coast: In the northern archipelago 30-60
cm thick fast ice. Farther off there is a vast region of
10-20cm thick level ice. South and west of the line
Nahkiainen - Noströmsgrund/Oulu-1 - Nordvalen
there is very close, 20-45 cm thick ridged ice and
10-20 cm thick, rafted ice. In the southern
archipelago there is 10-20 cm thick fast ice. Out on
sea, all the way to Norra Kvarken, there is thin ice
and new ice. Swedish Coast: In the northern
archipelago fast ice, 25-60 cm thick. Farther off up
till about 23°E and southward till Blackkallen there
:ıs very close 20-40 cm thick drift ice with many
'nterspersed leads, which are covered with new ice
or thin level ice. Else in the North and East 10-20cm
thick level ice. The southern part is covered
with 5-15cm thick level ice, but there is also an area
with 20-30cm thick close ice in places.
Expected Ice Development
A low, coming from eastern Europe, move towards
the north, passing over the eastern Gulf of Finland.
For the next days this leads to continuing cold
temperatures in the Bay of Bothnia and the
1orthern Sea of Bothnia, where new ice formation
will continue. In these regions the wind will veer
towards northerly and then northwesterly directions
on tuesday. The ice will drift towards the south,
respective southeast and in the southeastern
corner of the Bay of Bothnia ice pressure will built
up. At the fast ice in the north probable a lead will
open, which will immediately be covered by new
ice. In the Gulf of Finland no much change is
expected, the sometimes fresh wind will push the
ice around, but as the wind direction changes no
mnuch net drift will occur. New ice can be forming
over night, but then will disappear again during the
dav.
