10-20 cm dickes Eis, in der Einfahrt Neueis. - In der Luga and Kopora Bay there is new ice. 
Kopora- und Lugabucht kommt Neueis vor 
Schärenmeer 
In den inneren Schären kommt örtlich dünnes Eis 
vor. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den Schären kommt dünnes 
=is vor. Schwedische Küste: Der nördliche 
Ängermanälv ist mit 10-830 cm dickem Festeis 
bedeckt. 
Norra Kvarken 
Auf See treibt zwischen Holmögadd und Valassaaret 
ein 10-12sm breites Gebiet mit lockerem Eis. 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten liegt 
dünnes Festeis, daran anschließend treibt bis 
Vaasa-Leuchtturm dichtes Eis. Schwedische Küste: 
Nördlich von Umeä und dicht bei Holmöarna liegt 
dichtes und lockeres, 5-10cm dickes Eis. 
Bottenvik 
Die Eisgrenze auf See verläuft etwa von Skellefteä 
nach MNahkiainen. Finnische Küste: In den 
nördlichen inneren Schären 30-50 cm dickes Festeis. 
Außerhalb davon liegt dünnes ebenes Eis bis zur 
Linie Malören — Ulkokalla. Westlich dieser Linie 
kommt 15-30 cm dickes sehr dichtes, teilweise 
aufgepresstes Eis und Neueis vor. In den südlichen 
Schären liegt dünnes Festeis, außerhalb davon treibi 
lockeres bis sehr lockeres dünnes Eis bis zur Linie 
Ulkokalla — Helsingkallan. Schwedische Küste: In 
den nördlichen Schären 25-60 cm dickes Festeis. 
Außerhalb davon erstreckt sich ein Gebiet mit bis zu 
50 cm dicke Eisschollen sowie 10-35 cm dicken 
Treibeis und zusammengefrorenem Eis. Im Süden 
tritt entlang der Küste Neueis auf. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Die Eisbildung im nördlichen Bottnischen Meerbusen 
wird die nächsten zwei Tage noch andauern. Bei 
zuerst südöstlichen Wind wird das Eis etwas nach 
Norden geschoben, am Freitag dreht der Wind dann 
aber auf Nord und schiebt das Eis wieder etwas 
zurück. Im östlichen Finnischen Meerbusen lässt der 
Frost nach, ab Freitag ist nicht mehr mit 
nennenswerte Eisbildung zu rechnen.

Archipelago Sea 
in the inner archipelagos there is thin ice in places. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the archipelago there is thin ice. 
Swedish Coast: The northern Ängermanälv is 
covered with 10-30 cm thick fast ice. 
Norra Kvarken 
At sea a 10-12nm wide area of open drift ice 
between Holmögadd and Valassaaret. Finnish 
Coast: From Vaasa to Ensten there is thin fast ice, 
tollowed by drifting close ice up to Vaasa 
ighthouse. Swedish Coast: North of Umeä and 
close Holmöarna there is close and open, 5-10cm 
thick drift ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
The ice edge at sea runs approximately from 
Skelleftea to Nahkiainen. Finnish Coast: In the 
1orthern inner archipelago 30-50 cm thick fast ice. 
Off the fast ice there is thin level ice up to the line 
Malören - Ulkokalla. Westward of this line there is 
15-30 cm thick very close, partly ridged ice and new 
ce. In the southern archipelago there is thin fast 
‘ce, farther off thin open and very open ice is drifting 
up to the line Ulkokalla — Helsingkallan. Swedish 
Coast: In the northern archipelago fast ice, 25-60 
cm thick. Farther off there is a vast area composed 
of heavy up 50 cm thick floes, 10-35cm thick close 
drift ice and consolidated ice. In the South there is 
new ice along the coast. 
Expected Ice Development 
Ice formation in the northern Gulf of Bothnia will 
continue further during the next two days. In the 
beginning a south-easterly Wind will push the ice 
slightly towards the north, but on Friday the wind 
will veer and the then northerly wind will push the 
ce back towards the south. In the Gulf of Finland 
(emperatures will begin to rise and from Friday on 
no substantial new ice formation is expected.
