Neueis 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten liegt 
dünnes Festeis und sehr dichtes Treibeis, außerhalb 
davon treibt bis Vaasa-Leuchtturm dichtes Eis und 
Neueis. Weiter außerhalb kommt bis Sydostbrotten 
und Nordvalen Neueis, nordöstlich von Nordvalen 
dünnes dichtes Eis vor. Schwedische Küste: 
Außerhalb der Küste und dicht bei Holmöarna 
kommt dünnes ebenes Eis, auf See Neueis und 
Eisbildung vor. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
30-50 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon kommt 
westwärts bis zur Linie Malören — Ulkokalla 5-15 cm 
dickes ebenes Eis, dann 15-30 cm dickes sehr 
dichtes, teilweise aufgepresstes Eis und Neueis vor, 
Jie Eisgrenze verläuft auf der Linie Gäsören - 
Jikokalla. In den südlichen Schären liegt dünnes 
-esteis, außerhalb davon treibt sehr lockeres dünnes 
zis und Neueis bis zur Linie Ulkokalla -— 
Helsingkallan. Schwedische Küste: In den nö6örd- 
lichen Schären 25-60 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb 
davon erstreckt sich von Kägnäset nordostwärts bis 
Malören 5-15 cm dickes ebenes Eis. Zwischen 
7arstugrunden und Malören kommen große bis zu 
50 cm dicke Eisschollen vor. Südlich davon bis zur 
Breite von Skellefteä liegt zusammenhängendes Eis 
bestehend aus groben Schollen, dichtem 10-35 cm 
dicken Treibeis und zusammengefrorenem dünner 
Eis. Südlich davon tritt entlang der Küste Neueis auf. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Die Eisbildung im nördlichen Bottnischen Meerbusen 
‚nird die nächsten drei bis vier Tage andauern. Auch 
im östlichen Finnischen Meerbusen ist bei leichtem 
Jauerfrost bis zum Wochenende Neueisbildung zu 
srwarten.

Finnish Coast: From Vaasa to Ensten there is thin 
fast ice and very close drift ice. Farther out close ice 
and new ice is drifting up to Vaasa lighthouse. 
Farther off new ice occurs to Sydostbrotten and 
Nordvalen. Thin close ice is drifting northeast of 
Nordvalen. Swedish Coast: Off the coast and 
2lose to Holmöarna there is thin level ice, at sea 
1ew ice and ice formation. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
30-50 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice there is 
westwards to the line 5-15 cm thick ice, then 15-30 
cm thick very close, partly ridged ice and new ice. 
The ice edge runs along the line Gäsören — 
Ulkokalla. In the southern archipelago there is thin 
fast ice, farther off to the line Ulkokalla — 
Helsingkallan there is thin very open ice and new 
ce. Swedish Coast: In the northern archipelago 
fast ice, 25-60 cm thick. Farther off from Kägnäset 
northeastwards to Malören there is 5-15 cm thick 
evel ice. Between Farstugrunden and Malören vast 
up to 50 cm thick ice floes occur. Farther 
southwards to the latitude of Skellefteä there is 
consolidated ice consisting of alternating heavy 
floes, close 10-35 cm thick drift ice and frozen thin 
ice. South of it there is new ice along the coast. 
Expected Ice Development 
Ice formation in the northern Gulf of Bothnia will 
continue further three to four days. At light frost, 
new ice formation is to be expected in the eastern 
part of the Gulf of Finland till week-end, too.
