Schärenmeer 
In den Schären kommt örtlich dünnes Eis vor. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt 
dünnes Eis vor. Schwedische Küste: Der 
nördliche Ängermanälv ist mit 10-20 cm dickem 
Festeis bedeckt. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Nygrund 
liegt dünnes Festeis, außerhalb davon bis Gäsgrund 
sehr dichtes Eis. Schwedische Küste: Um Holmön 
liegt ebenes Eis. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
30-50 cm dickes Festeis. Anschließend liegt bis zur 
Linie Malören — Merikallat 10-30 cm dickes sehr 
dichtes Treibeis, im Eisfeld sind Spalten und Rinnen 
zu finden. Außerhalb davon treibt lockeres dünnes 
Eis und Neueis. Außerhalb Raahe tritt bis Johan zu- 
sammenhängendes dünnes Eis auf, weiter seewärts 
bis Nahkiainen treibt dünnes dichtes Eis und Neu- 
eis. Die Eisgrenze verläuft ungefähr auf der Linie 
Ditei — Merikallat — Ulkokalla. In den südlichen 
Schären liegt dünnes Festeis, außerhalb davon treibt 
Neueis. Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen 
Schären 25-60 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon 
kommt lockeres oder dichtes 5-15 cm dickes 
Treibeis, stellenweise auch gebrochenes Neueis, 
vor. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
In den nächsten Tagen werden im nördlichen 
Bereich der Ostsee Tiefdruckgebiete von Westen 
kommend nach Osten ziehen. Dies führt in der 
Bottenvik zu wechselnden, aber meist schwachen 
Winden und leichten Frost. In der Bottenvik kann es 
so zu etwas Neueisbildung kommen, in allen 
anderen Gebieten liegen die Temperaturen aber im 
allgemeinen über Null und es wird kein neues Eis 
gebildet.

Archipelago Sea 
In the archipelagos there is thin ice, in places. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelago there is 
thin ice. Swedish Coast: The _northern 
Ängermanälv is covered with 10-20 cm thick fast 
‘ce. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: From Vaasa to Nygrund there is 5- 
25 cm thick fast ice. Farther out there is very close 
drift ice to Gäsgrund. Swedish Coast: Around 
Holmön there is level ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
30-50 cm thick fast ice. Farther out up to the line 
Malören — Merikallat there is 10-30 cm thick very 
close drift ice with some cracks and leads in the ice 
Held. Farther off thin ice and new ice is drifting. Off 
Baahe there is thin consolidated ice to Johan, 
jarther seawards thin close ice and new ice occurs 
to Nahkiainen. The ice edge runs along about the 
ine Piteä — Merikallat — Ulkokalla. In the southern 
archipelago there is thin fast ice, farther off there is 
1ew ice. Swedish Coast: In the northern 
archipelago fast ice, 25-60 cm thick. Farther off 
there is open or close 5-15 cm thick drift ice and 
some areas of broken new ice. 
Expected Ice Development 
During the next days low pressure systems will 
pass from west to east over the northern region of 
the Baltic. In the Bay of Bothnia this leads to mostly 
weak winds out of changing directions in 
combination with temperatures slightly below zero. 
Some new ice formation can occur in the Bay of 
Bothnia but elsewhere temperatures will stay 
mnostly above zero and no new ice formation will 
OCCur.
