Übersicht 
Die Eisbildung im nördlichen Ostseeraum dauerte bis 
Sonntag an. Das Eis in der Bottenvik, das während 
des Wochenendes im MNordostteil zusammen- 
geschoben wurde, lockert sich zur Zeit durch 
nordwestliche Winde seewärts langsam auf. 
Skagerrak und Kattegat 
Schwedische Küste: Vänersee: An der Nordküste 
'ritt zwischen Karlstad und Kristinehamn dünnes 
dichtes Eis auf. 
Rigaischer Meerbusen 
Estnische Küste: In der Pärnu Bucht liegt an der 
Nordostküste ein ca. 2 km breiter Festeissaum, etwa 
18 cm dick. Außerhalb davon kommt 5-10 cm dickes 
Festeis vor. Im Moonsund bildet sich in Küstennähe 
Neueis. 
Finnischer Meerbusen 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären dünnes 
Eis und Neueis. Russische Küste: In den Häfen von 
St. Petersburg liegt kompaktes 10-15 cm dickes Eis. 
Weiter westwärts bis zur Länge der Ostspitze von 
Kotlin tritt im Fahrwasser sehr dichtes 10-20 cm 
dickes, teilweise übereinandergeschobenes und 
hügelig aufgepresstes Eis auf. Anschließend kommt 
arst bis zur Länge vom Leuchtturm Tolbuchin 
kompaktes 5-10 cm dickes Eis, dann bis zur Länge 
vom Kap Seraja LoSad' Neueis vor. - Im Berkezund 
:ritt dunkler Nilas auf. - In der Vyborgbucht liegt 12- 
20 cm dickes Festeis, in der Einfahrt Neueis. - In der 
Luga Bucht kommt entlang der Küste dunkler Nilas 
vor.

Overview 
Ice formation in the northern region of the Baltic 
Sea has continued till Sunday. The ice in the Bay of 
Bothnia was compacted in the northeastern part 
during the week-end. At time, it is slowly loosening 
seawards due to the northwesterly winds. 
Skagerrak and Kattegat 
Sweden: Lake Vänern: On the northern coast 
between Karlstad and Kristinehamn there is thin 
close ice. 
Gulf of Riga 
Estonian Coast: In the Pärnu Bay there is on the 
north-eastern coast about 2 km wide belt of fast ice, 
approximately 18 cm thick. Farther off there is 5-10 
cm thick fast ice. In Moonsund new ice is forming in 
coastal areas. 
Gulf of Finland 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelagos there is thin 
ice and new ice. Russian Coast: In the harbours of 
St. Petersburg there is compact 10-15 cm thick ice. 
Farther out on the fairway up to the longitude of the 
gastern point of Kotlin there is 10-20 cm thick very 
close, partly hummocked and rafted ice. Farther 
westwards there is first up to the longitude of 
Tolbuchin lighthouse compact 5-10 cm thick ice, then 
1ew ice up to the longitude of Cape Seraja LoSad'. — 
In Berkezund dark nilas occurs. - The Vyborg Bay is 
covered by 12-20 cm thick fast ice, in the entrance 
there is new ice. - In the Luga Bight dark nilas occurs 
along the coast.
