Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Storhästen 
'ritt 5-20 cm dickes Festeis, anschließend bis Ensten 
dichtes dünnes Treibeis auf. Schwedische Küste: 
In der Einfahrt nach Holmsund kommt dünnes Eis, 
sonst offenes Wasser vor. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
30-45 cm dickes Festeis. Anschließend kommt von 
Kemi 3 bis etwa 12 sm südwestlich Kemi 1 10-30 
sm dickes sehr dichtes Eis vor. Außerhalb Oulu 
liegen von Pensaskari bis Oulun Portti 5-20 cm dicke 
=zisschollen und teilweise offenes Wasser. Außerhalb 
3aahe bis Heikinkari liegt dünnes, sehr dichtes Eis, 
dann kommt weiter bis Raahe-Leuchtturm dünnes, 
sehr lockeres Treibeis vor. Die Eisgrenze verläufi 
etwa von 7 sm südwestlich Malören über Oulun 
Dortti bis Raahe-Leuchtturm. In den südlichen 
Schären liegt dünnes Eis. Schwedische Küste: In 
den nördlichen Schären Festeis, 25-40 cm dick 
Außerhalb davon liegt ein weites Gebiet mit ebenem 
vis und sehr dichtem Eis. In der Skellefteä Bucht 
kommt in den inneren Schären ebenes Eis vor. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
ın den nächsten Tagen bestimmt ein sich südwärts 
verlagerndes Hoch über Südskandinavien das 
Wetter. Im nördlichen Ostseeraum überwiegen 
westlich Winde, besonders in der Bottenvik ist mit 
einer nordöstlichen bis östlichen Eisdrift und 
Pressungen gegen die Luvküsten zu rechnen. In der 
zweiten Wochenhälfte wird es dann auch kälter. 
Finnish Coast: From Vaasa to Storhästen there is 
thin fast ice, farther off to Vaasa lighthouse thin 
very open drift ice occurs. Swedish Coast: In the 
entrance to Holmsund there is thin ice, else open 
water. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
30-45 cm thick fast ice. Farther out there is from 
Kemi 3 to about 12 nm southwest of Kemi 1 10-30 
cm thick very close ice. Off Oulu, from Pensaskari 
up to Oulun Portti there are 5-20 cm thick ice floes 
and partly open water. Off Raahe thin very close ice 
to Heikinkari, and then further to Raahe lighthouse 
there is thin very open drift ice. The ice edge runs 
approximately from 7 nm southwest of Malören via 
Oulun Portti to Raahe lighthouse. In the southern 
archipelago there is thin ice. Swedish Coast: In the 
northern archipelago fast ice, 25-40 cm thick. 
Farther off there is a wide region with level ice and 
very close ice. In the inner archipelagos of the Bight 
of Skellefteä level ice occurs. 
Expected Ice Development 
During the next days, a high pressure system over 
southern Scandinavia, slowly shifting southwards 
will determine the weather in the Baltic. In the 
n1orthern part of the Baltic the wind will come 
predominantly from the west. Specially in the Bay of 
Bothnia this leads to a ice drift in easterly and 
north-easterly direction and the ice will be pressed 
against the coast. In the second half of the week 
colder temperatures are expected.
