Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Storhästen 
'ritt dünnes Eis auf, außerhalb davon Neueis und 
Neueisbildung bis Vaasa Leuchtturm. Schwedische 
Küste: In der Einfahrt nach Holmsund kommt 
dünnes Eis vor. Das Gebiete zwischen der Küste 
und Holmöarna ist größtenteils mit Neueis bedeckt. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
25-40 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon zuerst 
eine Rinne, die von nordöstlich von Kemi 2 bis 
nordöstlich von Kemi 1 verläuft. Danach kommt 10- 
30 cm dickes, sehr dichtes Eis. Von außerhalb Oulu 
bis etwas hinter Oulu-1 treten 10-30 cm dicke Eis- 
schollen, Neueis und offene Stellen auf. Außerhalb 
Z3aahe kommt dünnes Eis vor. Die Eisgrenze verläufl 
etwa von Malören über Merikallat zum Raahe- 
Leuchtturm. In den südlichen Schären liegt dünnes 
Eis, außerhalb davon kommt AMNeueis vor. 
Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen Schären 
-esteis, 15-40 cm dick. Auf See kommen nördlich 
der Linie Nygran - Farstugrunden - Malören Neueis 
und lockeres Eis vor. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Währen der ersten Wochenhälfte bringen südöstliche 
Winde relativ milde Luft in den nördlichen Ostsee- 
raum. Montags ist es in der Bottenvik zwar noch kalt 
und es bildet sich etwas Neueis, danach werden 
aber auch dort, wie im östlichen Finnischen Meer- 
ousen die Temperaturen um den Gefrierpunkt, bzw. 
nur etwas darunter, liegen. Die Neueisbildung kommt 
größtenteils zum erliegen. Das vorhandene Eis wird 
nach Norden gedrückt, da aber nur mit mäßigen 
Windgeschwindigkeiten gerechnet wird, ist nicht mit 
stärkeren Eispressungen zu rechnen.

thin ice, farther off there is new ice and new ice 
formation up to Vaasa lighthouse. Swedish Coast: 
In the entrance to Holmsund there is thin ice. The 
‚egion between the coast and Holmöarna is 
covered for the most part with new ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
25-40 cm thick fast ice. Farther out there is first a 
ead running from Northeast of Kemi-2 to Northeast 
of Kemi-1, then 10-30 cm thick very close ice. Off 
Qulu there are 10-30cm thick ice floes, new ice and 
open spots all the way past Oulu-1. Off Raahe 
there is thin ice. The ice edge runs approximately 
from Malören via Merikallat to Raahe lighthouse. In 
the southern archipelago there is thin ice, farther 
out new ice. Swedish Coast: In the northern 
archipelago fast ice, 15-40 cm thick. At sea north of 
the line Nygran - Farstugrunden- Malören there is 
new ice and open ice. 
Expected Ice Development 
During the first half of the week winds from the 
Southeast will bring relatively mild air into the 
1orthern Baltic region. The milder air will reach the 
Bay of Bothnia later then elsewhere, but latest on 
Tuesday also there temperatures will be only 
around zero or slightly below. Some new ice will 
form in the Bay of Bothnia on Monday, but after 
then almost new ice formation will occur. The 
existing ice will drift towards the north, but as winds 
will be only moderate, no larger ridging is expected.
