Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Nagelprick 
liegt dünnes Eis. Schwedische Küste: In der 
Einfahrt nach Holmsund und in geschützten Buchten 
<ommt dünnes Eis vor. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
25-40 cm dickes Festeis. Anschließend kommt von 
Kemi bis Kemi 1 Neueis vor. Außerhalb Oulu und bis 
yestlich von Merikallat tritt 10-30 cm dickes sehr 
dichtes, teilweise aufgepresstes Eis und Neueis auf. 
Außerhalb Raahe Neueis. Die Eisgrenze verläuft 
etwa von Östlich Malören über Merikallat zum 
Leuchtturm Raahe. In den südlichen Schären liegt 
dünnes Eis. Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen 
Schären Festeis, 15-35 cm dick. Außerhalb davon 
kommen wechselweise Bereiche mit dichtem und 
lockerem 5-30 cm dicken Eis, Neueis oder offenem 
Wasser vor. Von etwa 8 sm nördlich Malören bis zur 
Einfahrt nach Piteä erstreckt sich ein 2-5 sm breiter 
Gürtel mit lockerem 3-10 cm dicken Treibeis. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Die Witterung im nördlichen Ostseeraum wird 
während des Wochenendes durch Tiefdruckgebiete, 
die über die Bottensee bzw. zentrale Ostsee 
astwärts ziehen, bestimmt. Am Montag wird der 
nördliche Ostseeraum kurzzeitig unter 
Hochdruckeinfluss gelangen. Es wird größtenteils 
schwachwindiges Wetter mit wechselnden 
Windrichtungen vorherrschen. Beim überwiegend 
mäßigen Frost wird sich die Eisbildung in der 
Bottenvik fortsetzen. Im östlichen Finnischen 
Meerbusen kann sich in den Küstenregionen am 
Ende der Vorhersageperiode Neueis bilden.

Ihin ice. Swedish Coast: In the entrance to 
Holmsund and in sheltered bays there is thin ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
25-40 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice there is new 
ice from Kemi to Kemi 1. Off Oulu to west of 
Merikallat there is 10-30 cm thick very close, partly 
idged ice as well as new ice. There is new ice off 
Raahe. The ice edge runs approximately from east 
of Malören via Merikallat to Raahe lighthouse. In 
the southern archipelago there is thin ice. Swedish 
Coast: In the northern archipelago fast ice, 15-35 
cm thick. Farther off there are areas with alternating 
close and open 5-30 cm thick ice, new ice or open 
water. From about 8 nm north of Malören to the 
antrance to Pitea there is a 2-5 nm wide belt of 
open 3-10 cm thick drift ice. 
Expected Ice Development 
During the week-end, the weather in the northern 
region of the Baltic Sea will be set by depression 
areas moving over the Sea of Bothnia as well as 
over the central Baltic eastwards. On Monday, the 
1orthern region of the Baltic Sea will temporary 
come under the influence of high pressure. 
Weather with weak winds and shifting wind 
directions will predominate. In the Bay of Bothnia 
‘ce formation will continue at mostly moderate frost. 
New ice may form in the coastal areas of the 
eastern Gulf of Finland at the end of forecasting 
period.
