Russische Küste: In den Häfen von St. Petersburg 
liegt 10-15 cm dickes kompaktes Eis. Weiter 
westwärts bis zur Länge der Insel Kotlin tritt im 
Fahrwasser sehr dichtes 10-20 cm dickes, teilweise 
übereinandergeschobenes und hügelig aufge- 
presstes Eis auf. Weiter bis zur Länge vom 
Leuchtturm Krasnaja Gorka kompaktes, 5-10 cm 
dickes Eis. - Im Berkezund kompaktes 5-10 cm 
dickes Eis. - In der Vyborgbucht liegt 10-15 cm 
dickes Festeis, die Einfahrt ist eisfrei.

ı1arbours of St. Petersburg there is 10-15 cm thick 
zompact ice. Farther out on the fairway there is partly 
ı1ummocked and rafted, very close 10-20 cm thick ice 
Jp to the longitude of island Kotlin. Then up to the 
ongitude of the lighthouse Krasnaja Gorka compact 
5-10 cm thick ice. - In Berkezund there is 5-10 cm 
thick compact ice. - The Vyborg Bay is covered by 
10-15 cm thick fast ice, the entrance is ice free. 
Bottensee 
Finnische Küste: In den inneren Schären kommt 
dünnes Eis vor. Schwedische Küste: In ge- 
schützten Buchten tritt dünnes ebenes Eis auf. Der 
nördliche Ängermanälv ist mit 10-20 cm dickem 
Lesteis bedeckt. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnische Küste: Zwischen Vaasa und Ensten tritt 
dünnes ebenes Eis auf. Schwedische Küste: In der 
Einfahrt nach Umeä und in geschützten Buchten 
kommt dünnes Eis vor. 
Bottenvik 
Finnische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren Schären 
10-35 cm dickes Festeis. Außerhalb davon liegt von 
Kemi bis Kemi-1 teilweise aufgepresstes 10-30 cm 
dickes Eis, welches stellenweise zusammengepressi 
wird. Ab 6sm südlich von Kemi-1 bis nach Kemi-2 
liegt dichtes bis sehr dichtes Eis. Zwischen Oulu und 
Kattilankalla liegt 10-30 cm dickes Festeis. Noch 
weiter außerhalb tritt bis zur Eisgrenze, die entlang 
der Linie: nördlich Malären — südlich von Kemi-1 — 
Qulu-1 — Hailuoto verläuft, lockeres Eis auf. In den 
südlichen Schären liegt dünnes Eis, außerhalb 
davon kommt stellenweise sehr lockeres dünnes Eis 
vor. Schwedische Küste: In den nördlichen inneren 
Schären Festeis, 10-30 cm dick. Außerhalb davon 
liegt bis zu den äußeren Inseln 5-15 cm dickes 
kompaktes Eis. 
Sea of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the inner archipelago there is 
thin ice, Swedish Coast: In sheltered bays there is 
thin level ice. The northern Ängermanälv is covered 
with 10-20 cm thick fast ice. 
Norra Kvarken 
Finnish Coast: From Vaasa to Ensten there is thin 
evel ice. Swedish Coast: In the entrance to Umeä 
and in sheltered bays there is thin ice. 
Bay of Bothnia 
Finnish Coast: In the northern inner archipelago 
10-35 cm thick fast ice. Off the fast ice edge from 
Kemi to Kemi-1 there is partly ridged 10-30cm thick 
ice, with ice pressure in places. From about 6nm 
south of Kemi-1 to Kemi-2 there is close to very 
close ice. Between Oulu and Kattilankalla there is 
10-30 cm thick fast ice. Farther out up to the ice 
edge along line north of Malören — south of Kemi-1 
— Oulu-1 — Hailuoto there is open drift ice. In the 
southern archipelago there is thin ice, farther out 
thin very open drift ice occurs in places. Swedish 
Coast: In the northern inner archipelago fast ice, 
10-30 cm thick. Farther off up to the outer islands 
there is 5-15 cm thick compact ice. 
Voraussichtliche Eisentwicklung 
Die gestrige Situation bleibt weiterhin bestehen. 
Zwischen Tiefdruckgebieten über der Nordsee und 
westlich Skandinaviens und einem Hochdruckgebiel 
im Südosten wird durch die im gesamten Ostsee- 
gebiet überwiegend südwestlichen bis südlichen 
Winde relativ milde Luft herantransportiert. Am 
kältesten wird es in der Bottenvik und im östlichen 
-innischen Meerbusen, obwohl auch dort die 
Temperaturen nur um den Nullpunkt liegen werden. 
Fine substantielle Eisbildung wird daher nicht 
vorkommen und das Eis wird an die nördliche Küste 
gedrückt. Mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit bleiben die 
Temperaturen bis Ende der Woche weiterhin mild. 
Expected Ice Development 
The prognosis hasrn't changed compared to 
yesterday. Between low pressure over the North 
Sea and west of Scandinavia and high pressure in 
the southeast the winds over the whole Baltic 
‚egion will blow fram the southwest to south and will 
aring mild temperatures. The coldest temperatures 
will be found in the Bay of Bothnia and the 
easternmost Gulf of Finland, but also there the 
temperatures will be just around zero, so no 
substantial ice formation will occur. The ice will 
accumulate at the northern coasts. The mild 
temperatures will most probably persist till the end 
of the week.
