How to use the Tide Tables (with example calculations)
Daily tide predictions
Part I comprises daily predictions of the times and
heights of high and low water at reference sta
tions. The reference stations are listed on the inner
cover page and at the beginning of Parti; the
location of the reference stations is shown on the
maps on page 6* and 7*.The numbers in the Index
to Stations at the end of the book refer to Table II,
page numbers behind reference stations refer to
the daily predictions in Part I.
Conversion to different zone times
The time used for the predictions at the individual
reference stations is indicated at the bottom of each
page.
The following example explains how the times of
high and low water are converted to any other
local or zonal time required.
Example 1:
What is the time and height of afternoon hight water at Ekaterininskaja on 10 February 2014 in the time zone
UTC + 1 h 00 min?

The HW time prediction is expressed in UTC + 3 h 00 min. To obtain the HW time for Ekaterininskaja in the time zone
UTC + 1 h 00 min as required, you have to determine the difference between the reqired HW time and the time shown in
Part I:
(UTC +1 h 00 min) - (UTC +3 h 00 min) = -2 h 00 min
The HW time for Ekaterininskaja is computed as follows:
HW time: 16 47 - 2h OOmin = 14 47
Result:
Ekaterininskaja HW time 14 47 (UTC + 1 h OOmin) HW height 3.1 m (Chart Datum)
